The AMNRL would like to welcome three new clubs to the 2006 national competition with the Jacksonville Axemen from Florida, the Boston Wolfhounds from Massachusetts, and the New Haven Warriors from Connecticut joining the Lincoln and Franklin Conferences in the quest for C.D.Ferrainola Cup IX.

The Axemen will be headed up by USA Tomahawks veteran international Daryl 'Spinner' Howland who has been insturmental in the expansion of the game in America for many years. Playing home games at the magnificent University of North Florida, the Jacksonville based club will be an exciting location for new fans to enjoy Rugby League in the south joining the Franklin Conference.

The Boston Wolfhounds will join the Lincoln Conference with the New Haven Warriors forming a cluster of teams in the Northeast region. The Wolfhounds will be managed by Jim Walker who hails from England and will have a vast array of talent available with a number of players on hand from the Division One Rugby Union national champions. The Warriors enter the league led by Blair Wards and Adam Hamon, both experienced Rugby League players and dedicated administrators keen to forge a presence in the New Haven, CT area.

More news on each club, the 2006 season schedule and player information will be available shortly.

Great to have confirmation. On a disappointing note, is it true that the NRL will not be on Fox Soccer Channel this year? From looking through the guide, all that appears to be on is soccer. Anyone know what gets into the paid programming slots?

On the positive, Canadians can watch Dogs vs Penrith on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday! Maybe this is first step to re-establishing Rl in Canada.

Great news. sad about coverage. perhaps its an oversight....

According to John Brady they are still working on it. But going by what is listed, it looks like all sports other than soccer will have to pay for the privilege.
