Exercising my prerogative

as we all know it's a girls prerogative to change her mind. this duck's no different.

not that i am changing my mind so much as having had it reinforced

1. was Mr beattie who I felt sorry for having to play uncooked. well having hada another look just now he was good. took 3 and 4 to tackle him every time and they were grimacing when he went into them. he still has the hurt factor if not the explosive speed off the mark

2. about 85 to 90% of Mr hilders tackles have him as first man in. He's invaluable to this team.

3. Mr kent had the best positional and defensive wingers game of any shark this year

4. Mr Sullivan was not as bad at half as a first look makes out. it was more a case of others not knowing what was going on around them

5. Mr bailey was dangerous at every touch.

6. at times it looked like we were employing that old umbrella defence. it was awful. created many gaps best example was the MrWiki/Mr Mclinden run around

7. the trust was gone. when Mr Mogg scored and Mr McG slid in he showed a mistrust for our best defender Mr Hilder, that let Mr Mogg get around him. we shouldn't mention Mr Merritts tackle attempt. or his earlier ones when Mr Mogg made a try for Mr Robinson.

8. Mr Simmons only had 2 real blemishes. A miss on Mr Shotclockski and the dropped ball off the Lomu offload. His mopping up at the back was very good. Peach has obviously ben in his ear. His instinct was keen.

that's all

Ahh, see Ms FuddlePlucked!

You SLIPPED up, didn't ya! What happened to MR Lomu's offload and MR Peach getting in his ear in your last paragraph?

But, a pretty good wrap-up.

Ciao!

Sounds like excuses to me. They played terrible duck, simple as that

oh no no no

i'm a forgiving duck and i think terrible is too strong. they played to a standard we'd realistically expect given the make up of the team. that may be a low standard but no eam can go that well when they have 1.2 mill of talent on the sidelines.

i wonder what the avergae age of the team was for that game. babes in arms they were

anyway Mr Military Shark pleased to meet you. :D

Having reviewed the tapes, we were absolutely devastating in every sense of the word. For some reason, however, the final score did not reflect this... :?

He'd have to be being sarcastic wouldn't he?

If anything the scoreline flattered us.

Just a swipe. Some individual performances were okay... but some are hard to excuse. Beattie was slow and useless, one of the weaker links in a pack that got thoroughly trampled in the first half. When Bailey wasn't being penalised or dropping the ball, he wasn't particularly dangerous. No breaks, half-breaks or anything. Canberra had him well covered.

I fear a year of ineptitude has lowered our standards of what constitutes a 'good' game.

It was a poor performance. We were in our half in the first half 64% of the time largely due to their domination and our lack of organisation. Im not to sure of the end of game stats but 3/4 of the way through we had only had 1 line break :? . For 90% of the game we had nothing in defence and attack :(
