Hi Guys,
Mentioned this idea in passing a while back and received a couple of supportive comments so thought Id explore it further.
Only an expression of interest at this stage as I havent really had too much time to consider what the group could / would do. Certainly open to all ideas !
Was lucky enough to catch up with Daniel Andruczyk the owner / operator of the Rugby League International Scores website in January 2013 and spent a few hours talking all things International RL over a cold beer ( and Roast of the day ! ) at Easts Leagues Club here in Brisbane.
Enjoyed the opportunity to talk subject matters with a like-minded person rather than receive the usual blank stares accompanied by the nah . They dont play footy in ( insert emerging country of choice) .youre kidding.
(Unfortunately Dan and RLIS seems to have gone off the boil since July of this year. I know he has a fairly demanding job as a physicist and had a family bereavement so perhaps hes just taking a wee break)
Also met a few enthusiasts over in England during last years RLWC. They may even be forumers on here !
Disappointingly I lost some of their contact details as well. Hangovers and hurried packing to catch a train or ferry do not help with keeping scraps of paper you have collected !!!
Anyhow, this is a case of nothing ventured, nothing gained. A chance to swap the keyboard and screen for a coldie ( or coffee) and catch-up !
Heading into the hectic yuletide season now, but perhaps early months of 2015 could be a starting point.
Got a feeling the Latin Heat ( South / Central American team) are lining up against The Philippines again in late January. Either on the Gold Coast again or Brisbane. ( The man behind LH is a well-known RL journo in QLD who I met over in the UK enroute to the USA V Roos QF game)
Over to you folks !
