Extras DVD - when will it be released in aus?

Anyone know when the TV series Extras starring/written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant of the Office fame will make it to DVD in Aus??

I can only find it on UK and US sites but no Aussie ones.

I have seen the opening episode and loved it and also being a huge Office fan (the UK original of course) I want to buy the season knowing I will enjoy it.

So does anyone know if it is planned to be released or do I have to buy an overseas copy and pay shipping and conversion fees?

I don't have an answer to your question but a mate of mine returned from England with a copy and it's pretty hee-larious.

Yeah, ive only seen the first episode but I thought it was great....am hanging for the whole season (which is only 6 episodes I think?)

no idea, I ordered it from the UK. Bloody hilarious show too. The Kate Winslet and Patrick Stewart episodes are my favourites. The bonus disc is great too. Gervais is one weird man.

I wouldn't count on it coming out here anytime soon. It hasn't even been on the ABC yet has it?

Dont know....ive been waiting but havent seen it advertised so I guess not. You have just inspired me to order it.

I have seen it on amazon.com.uk.............would anyone recomend a better site than that or will it do? (ive never bought from UK sites over the net before)

yeah I went through Amazon, no dramas whatsoever. I wonder if season 2 is out yet?

ABC will release it once they finish showing it here - I wish they'd bloody wekk hurry up and show it!

Agreed.....too late ABC, show it earlier or loose more customers to DVD imports!

btw lucky the region coding protection is so effective and hard to beat so they could control people buying imports as they control country releases!!

Only six episodes in the series. Wouldn't expect the DVD to be released in Australian unless/after it's been shown on free-to-air.

I think they've been signed to do another series, but it probably won't air in UK for another 6 months or so...?
