Yeah, I thought we were still a chance when it hit 22-0.
I was yelling at Daley and co. because they were talking as if Parra were playing crap, the Panthers were just very lucky.
Sure they looked more intense to start the game but the 1st try was lucky, from a kick. The 2nd was from a kick and Inu and Wright were caught out waiting for the ball to cross the line. The 3rd came from Burt knocking on near the line while the Panthers had all the momentum, Hayne slipped over as well, more luck for the Panthers. Then Jennings scooped up a bad pass from Mortimer. Overall I thought Parra were playing ok, it's just the Panthers got lucky, and the scoreboard started to look bad.
The missus thought I was crazy, I told her we could get flogged if the luck continues for the Panthers, but Parra could still win the game. My exact words were "Parra - Panthers' games often finish with scores like 36-28, the Panthers are only on 22", she just smirked at me with that 'you're crazy' look.
Although after Penrith scored to make it a 2 point game near the end I started to get very nervous, memories of that bloody Newcastle game came flooding back.
Anyway on another point, Daley is the worst commentator in the game.
One point in the game, I think it was when Penrith scored their last try, Daley started bagging Parra because they conceded possession in a spot where Penrith were able to put in an attacking kick deep in Parra's territory. He seemed to forget that only 30 seconds earlier he was bagging the forward pass decision that gave Penrith the ball, but somehow it Parra's fault now.
And he was whinging about Parra attacking out wide too early in the sets all through the 1st half. Then when they did it early in the 2nd half he praised their confidence to do it.:? He is a knob, and he does this sort of stuff every game.
