The RWC is going from strength to strength. Look at tonights game...Argentina vs Romania....another sellout and a very enjoyable match.
Prior to the start of the RWC the sale of tickets was at 4000 per day, since the games got underway the ticket sales have been at the rate of 15000 per day. Seems like a very expensive way to participate in a mexican wave....COULD IT BE THE PEOPLE ARE ENJOYING THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO PAY TO SEE IT. ABSO BLOODY LUTELY.
Please note, I have made no reference to any game except Rugby. If you are offended by a positive thread about rugby then please respond on the appropriate site.

Did you go to the game?

What was the highlight for you?

According to O'Neill weren't all tickets sold before the games had even started?

Aaaaaw, poor touchy widdle yawnion supporter.... someone bagged your game a little too much huh?

I was actually asking a legitimate question based on my own experiences and what I had heard.

A. I tried to get tickets when the initial allocations went out. Though I did try for some of the bigger games and smaller pool games the reply was not good. The response we got was that the majority of games were sold out - or the allocation pool was not huge.

B. I knew that sales had initially been slow but I didn't think they were quite that slow as reports had been that most games were nearing sellout stage. It just seemed like a big gap between what was initially sold and what is now being sold.

  I am actually a bigger league fan than union. But I get pissed off when either codes fan stretchs or twist the facts.

Fair enough about your comments regarding the tickets available.

I had pretty low expectations for the round robin part of the tournament so the size of the crowds has amazed me & people continue to turn out in droves.
However the standard of much of the rugby has been as average as I was expecting. Even though I've really enjoyed some of the games to date, a lot of them have been really sub-par. It will be interesting to see if the IRB actually takes proactive steps towards improving the standard of the lesser nations. I hope the Pacific Islands see better times at the very least.
