golden boot goes to best performer in internationals over the year

there is no doubt in my mind that he is worth, however brian carney would have also been a fair choice

A winger? You are kidding.

First - there are so few tests that this is a joke if it's really based on internationals.

Second, if it is just based on internationals, Farrell isn't even the best player in the GB side let alone the world (best player in the tri-nations has been Hindmarsh - easily).

Farrell's got nothing

what do you have against a winger

every position is important on the field

carney has made more metres than anyone

carney would be very deserving

if i was on the board

my top 3 picks would have been carney, fielden, farrell

Every position is not as important as every other.

Wingers are by far the least important.

When Wendell Sailor signed for union, Gorden Tallis said something along the lines of "who cares, he's a wing - they only look any good because we give them the ball in space"

Farrell pfffffttt

Carney pppffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttt

If it has to be a Pom - and it looks like it does, then at least pick Fielden who can play

hindmarsh HAS been real good in the tri nations, hes been awesome in defence. although i really wish his shorts werent always round the crack of his arse :?

if some imdependant people have voted for it, then its fair enough. everybody will have their own opinions wont they

worthy winner.... pffftttt

You're a funny guy ozbash... he's not even in the top 10 2nd rowers in the game... even a few of our kiwi backrowers are better than him... he's a bad 5/8 trapped in the body of a backrower...

I would have no probs with CArney taking it out as he has been in awesome form. Isnt that what this award rewards!

bullshit

without 2 good wingers

a team will get smashed every time

wingers play a very important role in defence, kick retrievals and many many other aspects of play

a winger is just as deserving as a lock, hooker or any other position

Obviously if you have good wingers, all the better.

But, look at the Roosters - they do ok with the worst winger anyone's ever seen

Seriously, if you only have a limited amount of money, then you don't spend it on a wing. Also, if they're so critical, why is it that some of the best we've seen in recent times at test level - notably O'Connor and Ettingshausen - were centres...

Maybe, but they're both 10 times the player Carney is and were seldom mentioned in discussions of the best player in the game
