7 of our biggest Problems:
1. Lack of energy/ Intensity. Bar the Manly, Dogs and Souths games we have come out flat as a tack. f**k me you professional footballers have one job. To be professional footballers! Show up, play with intent and purpose , get your body ready and do it again. Not showing up should be rare not the norm. I don't give a flying F if my team gets beat in a scenario like the Dogs game where everyone have their all and we ran out of troops but games like today and last week which we're 'not on' happen way too often.
We had no kick chase over the past 2 weeks other than the kicker, zero line speed . It really is a worry that a coach players supposedly want to play for can consistently send out a team that lacks effort . Especially away from home but it snuck into our home game today which was only a matter of time. Reminded me a lot of the shithouse effort we put in against Newcastle on a Sunday arvo last year.
2. Fullback play. We have no support play up the middle. Our 2nd man fullback out the back play is out of sync because the dude is so slow to get there. Our halves run across field waiting for him to be there to straighten up and we run out of room. He doesn't position well in defence or to field kicks and is 50/50 under
a highball. Basically, he isn't a fullbacks asshole.
3. Our # 7 is a bush footballer. If he wants to show up he's energetic and committed to tackles and injects himself into the game. If he lost money on the punt the morning of the game or feels like having a drink back home he doesn't even bother. If he's running out of the line and not attempting to put his body in the tackle you know he's off and hasn't bothered to turn up.
4. No speed . 1 guy in our backline has any speed at all. A lot of that is due to injury.
5. Joseph Paulo. Just a crab. Comes out first set after half time and throws a 3 metre forward pass then gives away a penalty next set. & does shit like this weekly for 3 seasons. Just a dumb player. Has the skill set to be a decent link man but doesn't have the brains. dumb as shit.
6. 2 Dummy Halves. usually his is only effective if the one on the bench comes on and changes the pace of the game/ finds room against tired forwards . We bring on a toiler who's slower than the original dummy half and the pace drops.
7 Tim Mannah. This won't be popular but he has nothing. the game has moved past his skill set. Front rowers need a little bit of subtlety. A bit of footwork, a bit of ability to hold the ball out and play before the line. He's added nothing to his game since he got in first grade. He doesn't hit in defence and he doesn't do anything other than a straight up and down 7 metre hit up with the ball. Every team needs a Tim Mannah. that's why every team has about 4 of them . We pay him well and he's our captain. Not worth the money
