Despite all the craziness, Ozzy had a good rock n roll voice which is overlooked by a lot of people.

He also knew how to surround himself with talent. There were some serious musicians in Sabbath. And then had Randy Rhoades and Zak Wylde play with him when he went out on his own.

I liked the fact that he could vary his style. Here's two of my all time favourites that are completely different.
There's better quality versions of Changes but this live one in his later days is more appropriate.

Most musicians in those days started out as session guitarists. Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones played in a couple of Hermits Hermits hits like No Milk Today.
Debate still rages over whether Page also played backing to HH.
We all know of Page's involvement molding the Yardbirds but he was a session player for a lot of bands.
This article is interesting.
