--------------

Ipswich Reds v Quahog Quagmires

A string of changes has helped Ipswich to their first win of 2016, with the underdog Queenslanders giving their home fans something to cheer for in an 18-0 win over a visiting Quahog side looking to make it 2 from 2.

The young guns were shining for the home side, with Te Maire Martin dynamic off the bench and Brock Lamb grabbing ten points on debut.

Ipswich: Richie Mathers, Justin O'Neill, and Brock Lamb. Lamb 3/3
Quahog: N/A.
Dally M: Ryan Hinchcliffe (Reds) 3, Richie Mathers (Reds) 2, and Te Maire Martin (Reds) 1.
Crowd: 15,783

New England Celtic v Brisbane Bulls

New England have opened their 2016 wins column in front of a monster Tamworth crowd today, with Celtic getting out to a 32-18 lead in the second half before a late Bulls' try instilled tension into the final few minutes. Up by eight with ten to go, Jake Granville added icing to the cake with a late field goal to get Celtic back on the right track after last week's shock draw.

New England: Semi Radradra 2, Dominic Manfredi, Danny Brough, and Boyd Cordner. Brough 6/7. Granville 1 fg.
Brisbane: Anthony Milford, Adam Reynolds, Elliot Whitehead, and Sam Williams. A. Reynolds 4/4
HT Score: 22-18
Dally M: Danny Brough (Celtic) 3, Semi Radradra (Celtic) 2, and Dominic Manfredi (Celtic) 1.
Crowd: 40,831

Sydney Vipers v South Canberra Knights

South Canberra have restored order to their universe today, putting last week's big loss behind them with a morale boosting 26-16 win over the Sydney Vipers in front of a vocal Sydney crowd. A bit of a reshuffle proved key for the visitors, who were inspired by some bustling Alex Walmsley runs in the ten point win.

Sydney: Danny Washbrook 2 and Ben Hannant. Croker 2/3
South Canberra: Ryan Hall, Chris Sandow, Manu Mau, and James Tamou 2. Smith 3/5
HT Score: 4-20
Dally M: Alex Walmsley (Knights) 3, Bryson Goodwin (Knights) 2, and Chris Sandow (Knights) 1.
Crowd: 29,623

Roma Vandali v Perth Reds

Roma will be left wondering what more they could have done to win in today's game against the visiting Perth Reds. Despite dominating possession and field position, the home side somehow found themselves on the wrong side of a 28-26 loss at home.

Roma dominated Dally M polling and fought back from a 22-8 deficit early in the second half to lead 26-24 headed into the final ten. A rare Tyson Frizzel hattrick, including the match winner, proved the difference.

Roma: Gavin Cooper, Luke Lewis, Will Chambers, and Sam Rapira. Thurston 5/5.
Perth: Kallum Watkins, Tyson Frizzel 3, and Jordan Rapana. Roberts 4/6
HT Score: 8-18
Dally M: Sam Rapira (Vandali) 3, Johnathon Thurston (Vandali) 2, and Will Chambers (Vandali) 1.
Crowd: 35,342

Shenzhen Sharkitohs v Mu'a Saints

Shenzhen continue to defy pre-season expectations that they would struggle after the loss of their inspirational coach and founder (rumoured to have been taken to the gulags in Xinjiang), today showcasing their premiership muscle with a hard fought 28-20 win over a determined Mu'a.

Iosia Soliola was a man possessed for the visitors in what was an at times scrappy game, but the Sharkitohs halves and some pin-point kicking allowed them to control the game in the second half and secure their first win of the season.

Shenzhen: Blake Austin, Sam McKendry, Lachlan Coote, Greg Eastwood, and Sean O'Loughlin. Walsh 3/5. Johnson 1/1.
Mu'a: Ratu Marika Koroibete, Paul Aiton, and Eorl Crabtree. Richards 4/4
HT Score: 6-8
Dally M: Iosia Soliola (Saints) 3, Blake Austin (Sharkitohs) 2, and Shaun Johnson (Sharkitohs) 1.
Crowd: 37,400

Grapes of Nanking v Ponte Preta Billy Goats

The reigning premiers find themselves in the unenviable position of being 0 from 2 after today's 22-12 loss against the Grapes of Nanking. It was truly woeful handling that cost Ponte Preta in their second game of the season, with a criminally low 47% completion rate ensuring that the Chinese side just had to complete their sets to grind out the win.

Nanking: Valentine Holmes, Sam Perrett, and Joel Tomkins. Hodkinson 5/5
Ponte Preta: Ryan Hoffman and Daly Cherry-Evans. Cherry-Evans 1/1. Inu 1/1.
HT Score: 8-6
Dally M: Joel Tomkins (Grapes) 3, Trent Hodkinson (Grapes) 2, and Jamie Soward (Grapes) 1.
Crowd: 29,135

Mt. Disappointment RLFC v Raymond Terrace Tanks

Mt. Disappointment are proving to be anything but so far this season, and have disappointed pre-season wooden spoon predictions by being equal first after two rounds. Today's 18-16 win over a more star-studded Raymond Terrace came thanks to an Aiden Sezer penalty goal fifteen minutes out from full-time, with MDRLFC's defense enough to hold on for an unexpected win.

Mt. Disappointment: Justin Carney, Kieran Foran, and Zak Hardaker. Sezer 3/6
Raymond Terrace: Greg Inglis and Will Hopoate. Gordon 4/4
HT Score: 4-8
Dally M: Reagan Campbell-Gillard (RLFC) 3, Zak Hardaker (RLFC) 2, and Michael Gordon (Tanks) 1.
Crowd: 26,911
