Perth Taipans v New England Celtic
New England have moved one step closer to securing the minor premiership today with a strong victory over a spirited Perth side playing for their finals existence.
The resurgent Reds would have been forgiven for thinking they were on track for a huge upset when they lead 16-8 in front of a vocal home crowd, but Celtic returned in the second half a side transformed and rampaged home with 30 unanswered points to record a 38-16 win. The win came from the forwards, where Beau Scott and Gavin Cooper out-muscled their more fancied opposition to move Celtic three points clear at the top.

Roma's remarkable run of form has come to a grinding halt today as the Italian side were comprehensively routed by top eight aspirants, Ponte Preta. Brisbane Bulls v Ipswich Reds
There were no surprises in the FFBRL's Queensland derby today, with the Bulls keeping their minor premiership hopes alive with a confident 30-14 victory over a spirited but outgunned Ipswich. Adam Reynolds again haunted his former club, and looks all but assured of taking out this year's Dally M Player of the Year award with another starring performance.

Ipswich: Mahe Fonua and Matt Prior. Gordon 1/1. Chase 2/2

Grapes of Nanking v Quahog Quagmires
No surprises in Quahog's visit to Nanjing today, with the Chinese side barely raising a sweat in a 24-10 win over the struggling US side. With a pair of high profile players on the sideline, Nanking still looked like a well-drilled unit in their four tries to two victory.

Machu Picchu Llamas v Shenzhen Sharkitohs
Machu Picchu might as well frame their wooden spoon now, with the South American side barely pressing Shenzhen today in front of a dismayed Peru crowd. The home side couldn't trouble the scorers at all, and their second half showing allowed Shenzhen to race away with a 32-0 win.
