FFS Start Throwing Offers at these Guys

We started out strongly with the signing of the 2 BK's before the June 30 deadline, and since the June 30 deadline our signings have been non existant. There are still quality players unsigned (including our own), why aren't we approaching them with offers? dammit that is what the recruiment staff are being paid to do.

Look at this List
Broncos
Casey McGuire: Quality acrross the field player, can play in the halfs, hooker, etc. would be a great pickup and would mean in 06 monas could move to #6 and McGuire could slot into #7.
Brett Seymour: Another quality half, who was the hot favourite for the QLD #7 spot before going down with injury this year.
Neville Costigan: I have huge raps on this guy, would be great coming off the bench, or as he did last week, slotting into hooker. A damn hard hitter also.

Sharks
Paul Franze: Although not having his best season this year, he was great last year, would be great in one of our center spots.
Jason Kent: Not sure if he is still unsigned, but can play accross the whole backline, and has been slotting in greatly while Kimmorley has been injured.
Matt Rieck: Not a game breaker, but very fast and if he finds the gap, is unstoppable, just like Donald.

Eagles
Scott Donald: Similar to what i said for Rieck.
Albert Torrens: At least if your not going to sign anyone new, keep what you have.
Luke Williamson: Why is he still Unsigned??? Can play in the fowards, and has played Center this year. A solid workhorse defender, his resigning is a Must!

Storm
Ben MacDougall: Was with us at the Northern Eagles, not sure if he would come back, but he scores plenty of tries at Melbourne.

Knights
George Carmont: Still very young, and would still be relatively cheap. Scores lots of tries.

The clubs administration has struck me as a bit inexperienced in these affairs (Most notable Cummings "We haven't Considered but we might Consider" on Terry Hill. Why not just say "No", and, if worst comes to worst, spring it as a suprise?), but I'm happy for them to plug away in secret chasing the players, as long as its being done. this silly season is the clubs litmus test on these affairs, so we should probably wait to see how it pans out!

Oh yeah, It's anxiety making though

Well as long as they are plugging away in secret, because atm we are one of the few clubs who aren't signing anyone

It's very frustrating, isn't it  .

I'll lead the mob down Pittwater Road if they fail to do anything  .

It sure is. I'm a Manly fan through and through, no matter if they are winning or, like the last few years, losing. However it just angers me to see that other lower clubs like the Warriors, Souths and even to an extent Parra are still signing High Profile players. I know we were holding out on Tahu and/or Monas, but surely there was a plan B, and if there wasn't, they are deadset f**king clowns.

We still have room under the cap, use it!

btw T-Ba, with your location, "Trying to forget about season '04...", you might want to rent that place out for another year #-o #-o

I am sure there is a plan B. We've already signed a SoO player and a Kangaroo, which is nothing to sneeze at. It may not seem like it, but we've yet to see how this front office operates. I'd actually prefer if we were suprised by the signings (As long as they didn't Involve T.Hill or some other washed up favourite sons), and they keeping tight lipped on the player recruitment front, like they did with Kite and Kennedy.

We still have room under the cap, use it!

I think they will. I don't reckon we are going to assemble a $3.25m squad for next season (If you exclude Alby, Hoppa, Torrens and Williamson, we've probably got 750k to throw around still. Donald and Willow @ 125k and alby @ 80k and we've still got 420k), so we might just pay parts of other players contracts out next season so we've got more money for 2006. This year is step 1 in a very big plan.

The Forward pack is much better, the halves combo is settled (Remember, The Walker-Monas Combo is 3 from 4 this year). Watmough, Stewart, King and Harris will all be a season wiser. As long as our issues around the ruck are adressed in the offseason (Our BIGGEST downfalls, The backs are missing tackles trying to shut down half breaks coming from lazy forward work far too often), the general attitude is improved and players are prepared to commit in defence, 2005 will look a whole lot better.

I've suprised myself with my positivety!

Maybe a certain Springbok centre would look good in the maroon and white even if he is a Barry ;-)

McGuire and Seymour have agreed to terms with the Broncos

as for signings, i'd go with Moule, Rieck and Franze

All 3 are risks but i believe thay are risks worth taking

Michael De Vere should be chased, as well as Aaron Moule. BUT we MUST retain Donald, Williamson, Hoppa and Torrens.

Check this:

1. Stewart
2. Donald
3. Moule
4. De Vere
5. Hicks
6. Walker
7. Monaghan
8. King
9. Randall
10. Kite
11. Harris
12. Kennedy
13. Menzies

14. Watmough
15. Heckenburg
16. Dunley
17. Leuluai

With Williamson, Haumono, Donnelly, Torrens and the likes as backup.

THROW THE CHEQUEBOOK AT DE VERE!!! Put him in the centres and Hicks to wing with Hoppa on the bench or PL.
