From Fifita's perspective Souths would look like an attractive proposition. Cronulla have a suspended coach, ASADA stuff still to be resolved and are continually reported in the press as about to go broke. He would have some mates here and the chance to play with his brother.

Souths have cash, Crowe, Inglis and a realistic chance at winning the comp.

It's only the fans who have an emotional connection in these situations. Players make career decisions and that's how it is. Sux for us but being a Cronulla fan is the the gift that never gives.

It would suck the largest balls on record to lose Fifita, no doubt about it.

BUT it is hard to imagine him having a better season than last year, so anyone who signs him now is going to pay through the nose. Not to say he's not worth it, but they're paying for a player at their absolute top of their game. Not really the ideal time to be buying a player who is not going to get any better.

Couple that with the fact Fifi is likely to be a blue for the foreseeable future, so that's 3 games he will be missing for from a season.

I wonder how much Fifi will be thinking about Dougy and Snowden. They are a lot further away from a Blue Jersey now than when they were with us...
