Finchy, the fans favorite !!!!!!

Well what a night it was back at easts leagues club !

After the game, it was on to the presentation back at the club, myself and a few other boys from the chookpen decided to be vocal during the presentation which was taken well by all of the boys, especially Brett Finch !

Finchy accepted the supporters player award on behalf or gavin lester, so we decided to start chanting "Stifler's Mom !" accepted nicely by finch, then it went on to "Welove you Finchy" Again that brought cheers from both the crowd and players !

But what happened next was a first for us fans, Finchy actually came up to our group to meet us and say thankyou for the support !!!! It was a great supprise for us, it is glad to see he did this out of appreciation for the support, something he possibly did not get elsewhere !

While speaking to him, he did say that the boys do appreciate the support that the crowd gives and that they do hear us and lift when they do. They love it when they come out of the tunnel and see the chookpen in full colour infront of them!!!!!

He was also asked about wether he will stay at the roosters long term, his words were "i want to stay as long as they will have me".

So thankyou to Brett finch and the boys !!!!!!!!!

Thanx for the report Muzz. It's no secret that I think he's a good player, he comes across as being a top bloke and as enjoying playing for us. Calling out Stiflers mum is a complete crackup. :lol:

One of the highlights also for me was Freddy when he saw the boys had formed a guard of honour for him.

Thanx for your report Supermario - I personally love to hear this sort of stuff 'cause I can never get to the club after games, so its always good to hear about the boys off the field. Maybe you could make this a weekly thing to keep us all in the loop.

If an 8 year old came up to him and said "Brett, could you hear me Yelling?" what is he going to say? "Na mate, who are you again"

Of course he is going to crap on how much he loves it and sees you there. Truth is he walked away going "Bloody morons, what the hell does Stiflers mum mean, I never been so embarassed"

Don't show him too much affection though, he isn't used to having mates so you don't want to scare him.

Actually mate, he came up to us out of his own accord not because he was asked or called over. This all happened back at the club in a function room whe it was heard by him, the team and all the fans there, and i can tell you now that the boys now call him stifflers mum now !

See woody, there is one reason whyhe did come up to us, the fact he appreciates our "SUPPORT" something he never got anywhere else.

He plays well, we appreciate that and support him, he appreciates the support and plays well !

I met Finchy last year and I found him exactly the way Mario describes him.

When I meet him he was witty, funny and very appreciative of the support of our fans.

He is a great young kid full of energy and loves the Roosters.....I honestly couldn't speak more highly of him after meeting him...in fact the whole team are brilliant. Off the field after meeting all the players my favourites are Finchy, Crocker, Catic and Crossy.
