Signed up to my first novice comp in late November. Had a proper powerlifting coach come correct my form and do the program and I am wrecked already and have 10 weeks to go.
Learnt how deep in a squat I really need to go.
I use to do Wendlers 5/3/1 which basically meant I never lifted more than 5 reps but this program has me starting out on a lighter weight for 4 sets of 10 reps. The weight feels easy at the start but once I get to rep 6 onwards the body just hates it. Getting slowly adjusted I think.
Anyone ever competed before?
