Fittler voted most overrated by his peers

Brad Fittler has been voted by his peers as the most overrated player in the game today. Freddy was a mile in front of the next best in Ryan Girdler and Jason Stevens. The survey was conducted on 100 first grade players and I have to say that is a pretty fair assessment. The top three would definitely make my list along with my fave Matt Gidley. Any thoughts guys?

I think its a huge disappointment that the Aussie captain can be put down so far. If NSW had won the State of Origin things would be very different.

BlueAndGold....I agree with you about your choice in team but I think you have missed the point about under-rated players. Being considered under rated does not mean you are a bad or at worst, a shocking player. It just means you are rated more highly than what you really are. In my honest opinion, I think the commentators make a big thing about Brad Fittler. He is nowhere near as good as they will have you think. He is not a bad player by no means. But he is no genius either. As I have stated many times, Fittler goes missing in action to often and really does not contribute much.

In saying all this, I think it was very cruel to publish that particular survey on the back page of the telegraph mirror. It really did not achieve much. Just remember, it is not Brad Fittler that tells everyone he is great. It is the idiot commentators, journalists and selectors who make him out to be what he isn't.

Babeto, I too agree with your team of choice but not your assessment of Fittler. Did he go MIA in last years playoff against the Knights? Not many players are capable of turning a game like that and I have seen him do it many times before. He has beena great player indeed and over ten years has at least held his own amongst any others that were considered great. It is all only opinion but in watching rl for 30 years mineis that he isa great player.
