First record was 11 goals against Wales, which was held by Dave Brown, 70 years ago and equalled by Mick Cronin (9 goals was the previous record).

Second was 22 points in a match, previously held by Dave Brown 70 years ago (21 points from 9 goals and a try).

Congrats Fitzy, thou art a legend :)

P.s he at least has 16 out of 16 goals in two matches so far ... it may even be more, dont know exactly when his last miss was ... anyone know exactly how many in a row he has ? And does anyone know what the most goals in a row record is for Roo tours ? He may even break that too.

As usual Melon - your tips are FOWL!!!

What odds u got on the plucked chook Fitzgibbon being top scorer??....I'll have some 'o that action, cos he may be up there in the goalkickers list if he can stay fit, but he wont score anywhere near enuff tries for topscorer!!

Ill give you the same odds as my last dud tip, which was "Chooks to knock out the Puppies"...yeah, come get some of that "dud" action. In case you didnt noctice, goalkickers get the top pointscorer title every year. A player can score 30 tries and still only reach 120 points. A goal kicker can kick 75 goals and make 150. Fitzy dont need to score many tries to be up there...look at El Masri, he didt exacty feature in the top tryscorers, yet his boot ensured he outscored everyone.

Its simple Math...do the Math.

I think Fitzy got 108 points last season. I also understand that he wants to be the highest scoring player for his position before his career is over. I forget who holds the title at present !

Bah!! Even a stopped watch is right twice a day Melly!!

And my last tip was the mighty Panthers to knock the Roosters back into some semblance of reality - so it looks like I've got the current form on the board there over your good self in any case!!!

Now let's dumb this 'simple math' of yours down a notch or 2 for ya shall we??

Goalkicker man makes some points...
Trysorer man makes some points...

Therefore: (And pay attention here cos this is the REALLY CLEVER bit!!) - Man who do both - score MANY points!!!

Now the 4-unit extension extra credit bit:

Forward pack man score not so many tries!!
Backline man score many tries!!

Goalkicker men rougly the same.

U beginning to understand this concept NOW simple simon!?!?!? :p

Good lad - theres hope for you yet then son!!!!

I think you'd find that would be one David Furner esq.

I might be wrong, but I should think it would be him as far as pointscoring second rowers go!

a lot of second rowers who kicked - george grant, harry bath??(maybe a front rower) but i would put my money on the Raiders second rower, Furner..a good goal kicker and not a bad player as well...
But Fitzy will outstrip the lot of them in the long run.

El Masari - a great goal kicker - sorry he can't run out of sight on a dark night though..one reason he doesn't play rep football..

Well

You're close anyway - 26. Because u can KEEP that Todd Byrne!!! I'd rather have that whippet-quick young whipper-snapper Scotty Sattler on the wing I do believe!!!

Oh and Chris Walker doesn't count. He's not even a footballer...if a less deserving person could have scored twice against us to knockw us out of the comp this season, then please point them out, because I'm going to need my camera, as they'll be sharing a flat somewhere with bloody Elvis & the Loch Ness Monster!!!....

You cant count can you??? I'll speak in your own native tongue of Dumbosyllable. Man who in backline may score more try than man who in pigs. Man in backline not likely score 30 tries which if you count on your 14 fingers, mean he not likely make 120 points unless man in backline kick many goals as well. El Masri not the man to be scoring 30 tries is he? More like the man in backline who score about 10 if he lucky.

Easts Man in pigs, name Fitzy, out with sore knee for 6-8 weeks in past year and he still finish in top 10 scorers with no many tries.

Get it Epod? If your goalkicker is not a standout like El Masri, and cant score a huge swag of tries again like El Masri, he has a bulldogs-chance-of-winning-a-premiership of topping the points scoring. My point bone head is Fitzgibbon on an average year will outpoint your season's top tryscorer, unless the top tryscorer happens to kick goals above 75%. Now El Masri May well be up there with the percentages, but he aint no try scoring freak. All Im saying is its closer than you think, and if Fitzgibbon stays fit is going to be hard to stop.

well no doubt fitzy will score a ton of points just of kicking and he gets his far share of tires, compared to most farwards anyways, but im not sure he will be able to eclipse Dave Furners record........ how far off him Dave is he??!

 Now that's a man trying to convince himself of the nonsensical things spouting from his beak if EVER I saw one!!!

If it were an option down the TAB to bet on Fitz NOT ending 2004 as top pointscorer, then I quite simply COULD NOT get enough ca$h on that!!!!

So as usual with u and your daft 'tips' Melon - I'd like to have some of that action thanks!!...You merely have to name the stake, and what's say we have ourselves a little bet, hey?!!

<Now if history does indeed repeat itself as they say it does - this is now your cue to DISAPPEAR from this thread for good Melon, never to return!!...Because you've been CHALLENGED to back up one of your silly statements!!! SHOCK HORROR!!!! >

Im willing to bet a dozen Crown Lagers (or Bogues Strongarms for your low class self), that if Fitzy stays fit, he will finish top pointscorer IF...IF...you do not count the rep games that will force him to miss NRL rounds.....there you go....I'll see your bluff.

I've never worked out why Crown Lager is so expensive...pretty foul stuff, so it is!!...I reckon they scrape it off the bottom of the fermenting vats myself - like slightly less thick vegemite!!

Crownies for you, Redback Lagers for me thanks!

Define, and set some parameters on the statement: 'If Fitzy stays fit' for me, and we have ourselves a bet dear sir!! :D

But this is a difficult stake - how do you propose the winner collect?... :?:

Cos I'm not so sure I'd like to sit down & have a beer with you in the forseeable future me old China!! :?
