Flanno's New Signings

May played very well this year. Flanno has been trying to sign a big name front rower which we desperately need. I’d be surprised if Flanno has not put in a call to May’s manager.
With May saying he cant be bothered to turn up some days, he may have a gambling problem, he may have tuned someone else's missus up, all this to me doesn't fit into Flanno's mantra, but hey he's the coach , he knows best.

Illias was touted as the next big thing, then fell out of favour and got injured. Can’t be on a lot of coin, and has a lot of upside even if I expect he will take some time to mature. Worth a shot given our options At 7. sure, I’d prefer Atkinso, but he is at least a year off. Give illias 2 year contract with a club option at a higher amount for the 3rd

I like Atkinson.. I like that he has had no serious injury, has pace, attitude, and has rly thrived in his first proper year in the grade.. But he's not available till 2026.. So perhaps ilias is an option for right now... I dont know his game well enough.. And I dunno what flanno is thinking.. But I'd be surprised if anasta and flanno could have a civil negotiation and agree on a number.

We really could however buy both.. But I don't see where douhei fits in all this.

I’ve heard Anasta speak fondly of Flanno

Douehi is a value in that he will be cheap and adds value to the squad as he can play anywhere.

Three year contracts and options are strictly for highly desirable players that there is competition to get. No other club wants Ilias. This kind of thing is how clubs screw up their succession planning.

I dunno man.. he says 'the words' on 360, and only after we have a big win because its his job...but I dont think he believes a word of it.... and he sort of more asks it as a qn for others to speak to, rather than his own view.... but he is very quick to bag our style, bag our roster.. and he broke into laughter when Flanno was compared to Ciraldo earlier in the year when we were both flying.

Even ignoring that though... Flanno is a turd to negotiate with.. its why all our deals take so long.

100% I think hes a great nsw cup cover for centre and 5/8.. but they wont be buying him for that.. certainly not if they r going to beat the 350k offer he is supposed to be on... and also how keen is he to come for a reserve grade position (granted his options are worse at the tigers with Galvin and Fainu in front).

He could be a great buy though (injury free), I just dont want him to be the only guy we buy.. and if we do buy Ilias (even if we dont buy Atkinson for 2026), I dont think we have funds or spots for Douihe is all im saying.. I think prior to hunt leaving, we had less choices.

If we end up with Douehli and Gutherson it will be a gamble of sorts but I will take it at this point. Gutherson and Atkinson much more alluring but it comes down to motivated players. We have to accept that for now at least we just are not a first choice club.

throw in Allen for cover and we are looking okay. Forward still missing.
Douehi's injury problems, though. Three ACLs and then swelling on the knee this year.

Not going to disagree. It’s risky.

Bird was a risk too but we got a lot of footy out of him.

A great quality player when fit, Douehli on a sensible contract could be the man we’ve been missing since Widdop.

It shapes as a ver interesting year if we can land a couple of the guys being mentioned.

Jacob Liddle was in a similar situation when he came over to us from the Tigers. That's all worked out pretty well so far for us. Probably one of our best performers since joining us.

I'm all for signing Adam Douehii at the right price. He's a very solid player when fit. I'd go as far to say that those seven games he did play this past year gave the Tigers a real chance at avoiding the spoon. He was one of their best when he did get out there.
