Hahaha I agree 100% mate.

Taupau is definitely the sort of player Flanagan would sign.

So funny I remember how last time Taupau and Klemmer were looking for clubs a few years ago when Hook was our coach, most on here said they didn't want them near the place but felt Hook would sign them.

Fast forward to 3 years later and we're talking about both being signed under Fraudagan and no one blinks an eye lid, if anything people are likely to say Flanno might get the best out of them 😂
Says it all really.. good observation

A 35 year old prop forward who has played 34 first grade games in the last three seasons is now an 'excellent pick up'
Hahahaha, that is next level ridiculous.

If Taupau is a short term prospect then why would we not just promote a young middle like Latu? Who cares if there's no upside for us doing that, there's no upside for us in having Taupau run around for a few games either.

The way you had to qualify it by saying Taupau would be an excellent pick up, shows you know the same as KF7 and I, that he is exactly the sort of player your man the drug cheat will go after.

It's a very sad predicament we find ourselves in.
If we continue to lose middles the way we have since Decembee starting with FMolo, then another junior in the middle is going to expose us. I love that the young guys are having fantastic seasons, but it is a long season and we are already down on middle troops. An experienced warhorse might just be what we need, especially if we were to lose a JDB. Don't presume to know me and how " I had to qualify ".....you know Jack shit about me. I don't need to qualify anything to the likes of you.

I bet the People saying let’s sign Tapau are the same that were excited about signing Corey Allan. Either they’re clinically blind or think replays from 2020 are live Tele because Tapau stinks, worse than Lawrie. We have enough mediocrity

What rubbish.

One minute we're all marvelling at some of the young forwards and saying well done Flanno on debuting them and next we're saying bring a 35 year old in to block some pathways or we will be 'exposed'.
As usual people on here such as yourself love contradicting themselves by the week.

We're staring down the barrel of four straight defeats mate, think we're exposed enough as it is and having a Marty Taupau in the side certainly wouldn't help things.

There is nothing wrong with doing both. In fact, the most successful teams combine youth and experience. So the only Rubbish being peddled here is by you. Dribbler.

We need an extra middle where are we going to find another before June 30?

Don’t like the idea of Tapau but we may not have a choice for the remainder of 2025.

Upon further research.....
David Klemmer's **average metres per carry** for the 2025 season ......He has averaged **72 running metres per game** with **5.9 hit-ups per game (has averaged 32 minutes per game.)

Using these numbers, his estimated **metres per carry** would be around **12.2 metres **. This is a solid contribution for a prop, showing his ability to gain ground with each run.

So Klemmer hasn't been anyway near as bad as I'm Hornby/KF7 would have you believe. In fact his 12.2m per carry is above the following top performers

Based on available stats, the **average metres per carry in 2025...

- **Payne Haas**: Averaging **180 metres per game**, with an estimated **9.5 metres per carry**.
- **Addin Fonua-Blake**: Leading in **post-contact metres** with **768 metres**, averaging around **9.8 metres per carry**.
- **Terrell May**: Has **1,722 total run metres**, with an estimated **8.6 metres per carry**.

So at the very least, Klemmer has done what he was brought in to do.

Hahahahaha oh wow the way you try to defend the indefensible is hilarious.

Yeah perfect analysis there buddy, just a shame he only carries the ball once every five minutes on average and obviously not as much as the other props you've compared to, when he decides to carry the ball which is his main job, it's quality though 😂

You do realise that he is not on the field as long as Haas, etc. Flanno is giving him his tasks and he is carrying them out. In addition, we have started a lot of our games with possession rates as low as 25% in the first half and Klemmer is a starting middle, so much of his time on the field is defending and this could be a reason for his low number of carries. You can't be carrying the ball if the opposition actually has the ball. It explains why Cookie's attacking game has been blunted, with too much defence due to lack of possession. So yes, when he does get a chance to have a run, it is actually is quality. But I know this doesn't suit your agenda, so feel free to type Hahaha and add a Ha ha emoji. It really is the best you've got ...

Those are actually really good numbers for Klem.. and numbers are just a guide... but from memory guys like Lawrie and Stewart were in the 7-8m range, our better guys 9-10m. obviously it depends how the game is going.. if you get the defence retreating you get more metres.. but over time its a useful stat.

Players doing longer minutes however arent expected to have the same impact, they have to maintain it for a long period while keeping up the defensive load. Thats why short-minute 'impact' props exist.

The question for me is whos picking up Tobys and Gulers longer minutes over coming weeks? Klemmer I am hoping can handle the assignment without falling off a cliff like I know Lawrie will (missed tackles, errors, penalties), and Tonga isnt a marathon man either, he has a huge frame and very raw.

It may have worked then , but the game has changed , and for me he isn't changing with the times ........ Forget how you won years ago you have to move with the times ......... The players have changed , it's a young man's game , you have to be athletic big strong fast ......... Something we are not ........ Hope I am wrong and Flanno has them firing in the second half of the Comp , then I'll put my hand up and say I was wrong ....... Over to you Coach ..........

Watching the Sharks-Storm game last illustrated where we are.
We aren’t anywhere near those teams.
