Just a lifelong doggies fan about to rant.

I'm honestly not happy with what des has done to this team, his player retention is really f**king bad, we have one of the worst spines in the game in my humble opinion. Lichaa, Moses, hoppa, all need to get dropped, they are shit let's be honest. But no you watch magic des sign them all up to long term contracts.

Des and his front row halfback game plan is around 3 years out of date, and I'm not sure he has any new ideas. We are f**king boring to watch. I'll be honest we have been boring for a long time, but at least we had some badass forwards who ripped in. I can't really say that these days, I mean with the exception of king graham .
Klemmer playing 80 is a shit idea, takes away what he actually does well, and that's being an aggressive dog !.now he's just a shattered useless big merkin who is pretty f**king avg. Tolman has given great service to the club, but I'm not sure why he was resigned ? Surely he's on his way out. We lose kasino our best impact player off the bench. Elliot seems like a prospect, and I can't complain about Jacksons efforts on a weekly basis , he has a dig and it's clear to see.
Once again Thankgod for graham and his passion, the bloke works his arse off weekly for the club.

Am I f**king crazy here or do other fans see what I see ?. Add your thoughts on the current state of these doggies.

Foren will go ok if he's not gambling or blowing out hammies which means he won't play half the year. Not sure it's going to be enough to save these dogs.

I'm always interested in these things.

Battled the bunnies when they won the comp in 2014 right, when was your last title?

My last title was 2015 lol not nrl standard.
it's a mad achievement if the boys make nrl, something I didn't have the skill to achieve personally. But me being shit ... does that change the fact that mosses is also shit ? Lichaa is also shit ? When it comes to playing in the nrl ? Just because I didn't play nrl , does that mean me and others can't see this ? That the rugby league world can't see this ? Am I a merkin for pointing out the the sun shines during the day ?. These guys also get multi million dollar contracts, you take the money you take the harsh fish bowl that is the nrl , step up and perform or jogg on and hand back the proud jersey !. I kinda feel sorry for the players sometimes when des plays them out of position , I personally believe Moses would be a better hooker.

    Looking objectively at last night

    - still missing our preferred five-eighth
    - no B Moz, Jackson or Klemmer
    - lost Graham early

We took the game to the premiers on a tough night, both sides had fantastic defence apart from the two tries. We led for most of the game and lost by a field goal.

Perspective is important. If we deliver the same performance next week v Penrith and have at least the 3 NSW boys back, we should win comfortably.

It's a good think the Sharks were full strength.

The sharks had more players missing ? If that was full strength we wouldn't go close, we are way off the mark mate, the standard isn't good enough. I believe the players are trying, but maybe not good enough for this level .

Not surprised, too be honest I didn't even watch the game, couldn't care. I had better things to do.

^ That my friends is where I'm at with the club at the moment. Couldn't give 2 shits what happens now. Now I know what Souths fans felt like for 43 odd years.

Not one of you has put forward a cogent argument to dispute what I said.

If you're disillusioned, that's more than fine. Go for it. But at least if you're going to challenge what I said, actually put something forward that counters it?

I don't get how anyone can suggest losing Graham didn't change the way we had to play. I also don't understand how (regardless of who the opposition are missing) missing four rep players (3 to rep duty, 1 to injury) isn't a relevant fact.

Not gonna pretend everything is rosy. Castle's "resignation" is evidence of that and there is plenty about our gameplan that needs work. I just don't see the value of agonising over a performance like Saturday when we've dished up far worse and far less competitive performances across the season.

Losing Graham maybe a loss but we have 3 or 4 other front rowers in the team surely a million dollar coach would have a contingency plan for such situations. Maybe another prop takes over his roll.
Imo our biggest deficiency was a lack of direction and the inability to finish sets n maintain any pressure ( not players missing, no different when they're in). We had our number 1 half playing who Des has put on big dollars. He will be one of our halves next year.
Our game plan needs work. We were told they had worked on a change of game plan in the off season. They have been working on it since November. They haven't been able to perfect it in 7 months how long do they need.
And the 5/8 we are missing isn't even wanted at the joint.

Its not relevant because you both had the same amount of rep players missing and were in the same boat.

    Josh Reynolds. James Maloney.
    David Klemmer. Andrew Fifita
    Josh Jackson. Wade Graham.
    Brett Morris. Jack Bird.

That evens itself out. Neither team was advantaged or disadvantaged more than the other through this. How is it a point worth raising when ut applies to both teams?

James Graham injury is a fair point. If he were fit and Paul Gallen were injured. The result would be different for sure.

Bulldogs are one classy spine player away from being a force. Keiran Foran will be with you next year. The biggest problem is already fixed.

    6. Foran
    7. Frawley
    9. Mbye

Not sure on fullback. But that 6/7/9 will take your pack to the top 4.

I don't really want to argue because I know you always look at the positive things but this is what I'll make of it:

    - still missing our preferred five-eighth

The Sharks were missing their preferred Five-eighth as well (Maloney)

    - no B Moz, Jackson or Klemmer

The Sharks had 4 players out on Origin duty as opposed to our 3

    - lost Graham early

Fair call, however he hasn't been setting the world on fire lately.

3 or 4 other props? Like say Klemmer, who was already missing? I thought the forwards left did a great job but being left one short in your rotation a quarter of the way into the game... that's another thing again.

Agree with all the middle part but I don't agree with Reynolds 'not being wanted'. WT threw more money than we could possibly afford at him. He had to make the decision for his own benefit. I don't begrudge him or the club.

How much Mbye is reportedly on, that's another matter.

I think that's precisely my point. It's not like we trailed all game and failed miserably - we were competitive against a (still very) good side, despite the fact we're obviously not as good a team as the Sharks are. The way some are carrying on it's like we got flogged 36-0 or something.
I've quite clearly said in this post and ones above things aren't rosy and I won't pretend they are, but I think the reaction to this loss has been ridiculous.

I think you'll find that the reactions will only get worse as the season goes on, we lose more games, and the team falls further down the ladder.

I must say if I can find anything positive about this, it's that the clubs fans are passionate about the club, and that it shows when they see the team they love failing like this.

If you only take a lost game at face value then that's the direction the conversation will go in. Failing to put a loss into context helps nobody and isn't productive criticism.

How about season stats ? We have the second worst attack in the league, Newcastle knights put on more points then us. Do you think that's a concerning trend ? Maybe it's our spine that's a problem ?
