Now before I have to sift through a whole pile of posts dedicated to obscure heavy metal bands and how much better they are.....I will say this.

Jam ya fuggen metal up ya arse ...It sucks the big ones.

*******
Now having never seen a concert in the Superdome I'm not sure what to expect.

I've heard very poor reports...are they true?

Also "The Kaiser Cheifs" as a support act ..when I got the tix I didn't know too much about them
Now I'm stoked .....they should be a bit of fun.
I just hope they get a decent go from the sound guy.
Unlike the Living End did in the Syd Ent Cent when they opened for AC/DC.
They got stitched up.

You do realise, Carcharias, that I never proclaimed metal as being superior to any other style of music. I merely defended it against the ill-informed morons who suggested it was inferior.

That is all

I have seen many a band at the super-dome, and I have seen Foo FIghters half a dozen times. If this was a Colour And the Shape Tour, it would be fun, but, being an In Your Honour Tour, shall be rather sh*t.

I have seen KISS, Korn, static-x and fear factory at the superdome, thoroughly enjoyed myself watching these superior METAL bands at this venue. ;-)

The superdome is basically pretty much like the ent cent, to me there is not much difference, although if there is I would have to say that the acoustics at the superdome are slightly better than the ent cent. Then again, I have always had dance floor tickets to these gigs so I always got the full sound.

Nothing beats the hordern pavilion for a gig IMO.

I will be at the Foo Fighters gig myself, am looking forward to it a I have never seen this band live yet.

Horden is one of the worst. Metro is where it's at.

what was the Ultimate rock Symphony?

It was on a couple of years ago.

Gary Brooker from Procul Harum, Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Jimmy Barnes and a few others did classic Rock stuff by Led Zep, Stones, Beatles etc with the backing of a symphony orchestra.

Gary Brooker doing a fantastic Conquistador, Alice Cooper doing Another Brick in the Wall pt2 and Kashmir were the highlights for me.

YEP ...That is about the only place I pay good money to see bigger bands these days.

Oh yes I remember now..Procol Harem didn't they do "whiter shade of pale"?

or did they do "I'll be there"?

Both great songs from that era.

Spectrum did one or the other I think.

Unbelievable.

Please explain how I possibly turned that into anything of the sort simply by pointing out that you were accusing me of something I never did.

f**k, I've been polite and reasonable up to this moment and until just then you had been too. Obviously no longer. Moron.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand - I haven't been to the Superdome but have heard mixed reports about it.

I agree about the Metro - I've seen baby Animals, Opeth and Strapping Young Lad there among others and it's one of the better venues provided they get the sound right.

Yep, Procol did Whiter shade (not my favourite song).

I'll Be There was Spectrum.

Hevydevy'
wake up ....and read the words with your eyes...did I mention your name anywhere in this thread??????

Back on your knee's Lester.

I shall rephrase the question?

Is it possible to tell me if the Superdome is any good to see a band at?

I am seeing the Foo Fighters there....
I have all the information I need to know about Metal bands and I don't need any comparisons to the Foo Fighters.

If the question is too hard to answer without comparing your favourite genre or bands to The Foo Fighters then kindly f**k off.

Thankyou.

Please just write f**k off if you're going to write anything, none of this f**k crap. And you know you were referring to me whether my name was mentioned or not. But, that said, I'm happy to put it behind us and move on with our lives

Anyway, as I was saying I've heard mixed reports about the Superdome but fro memory the majority of friends that have seen bands there have enjoyed the experience. I think it was more the odd-sporting event that some weren't happy with? Hmmm...

What's the capacity there?

Ok then f**k off with your metal talk ...

and yes lets move on....( group mosh?)

It is one of the worst venues I have seen a band in - for a purpose built venue for music (as well as gymnastics for the Olympics I guess) it has awful acoustics. The EntCent would have been a much better choice of venue but it comes down to the promoter and what the venue's terms for him to hold it there I believe (much cheaper than the EntCent).

The Metro is clearly the best live venue in Sydney, however it is tiny and struggles to hold 1,000 people in it. The Hordern used to be such a cool venue before they fox-ified it. I like the Enmore - it has character :)

The Enmore is great, the Metro is pretty cool too, but so small.
I saw the Dixie Chicks (no seriously) at the SuperDome with my GF and it seemed OK. Am seeing FF as well and can't wait. Only bad thing is you are so far from the city when you want to go out afterwards. When you are at the Metro or even the Hordern, you can hit the city straight away.

Only band ive seen at the Superdome was the Stones, and despite sitting at the back in the nosebleed section, it was still great - acoustics and everything.

IMO, the Enmore is the best venue in Sydney, with the Metro a close second. The Horden is too bleak and emotionless.
