Awesome double cd.

The first disc is kinda ordinary - definately trying to get themselves mass market airplay. The second disc is really good - you can tell that there is some older stuff on there.

Still better than One By One - that album blew. I wish they'd go back to writing Foo Fighters/Colour and the Shape stuff and stop trying to be the biggest rock band in the world...

I've pre-ordered it and it's in the mail right now, I haven't been as excited about a new album in a long time.

Exactly.

And I am not liking their post OBO guitar tone. Mesa's are bland and sh*t.

I've only had a listen to the first CD - I'm quite impressed. There are a few songs on there that blew me away, but then there were some quite ordinary ones too.

I think Dave has found, what he thinks is, the basic formula to making a great song and used it in just about every song on the first CD, it gets old quick. The second CD goes OK.

It wasn't worth the hype.

The acoustic cd is great the first cd is same old same old foo fighters, nothing special. I'll be listening to disc 2 more i think.

And this is what I don't get. A lot of people want Foo to go back to TCATS-era, and even Dave said that they are moving foreward, yet why put Friend of a Friend on the Acoustic CD?!?!?! That was a B-side from 1998!

The accoustic album is full of old material that they couldn't use on albums - there is very little new stuff on it.

I am a bit underwhelmed by disk 1. Nothing wrong with it, just a little bit dull. They can do better. I'm sure it will grow on me. Disk 2 is another story. Great stuff. I love Norah Jones as well so her little part is really welcome! Still though as far as accoustic albums go it's not a scratch on Bright Eyes' I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning.

Foo Fighters' albums work best with contrast between heavy and not so heavy.

Separating the songs has made each side a little monotonous...
