Footy - The La Perouse Way

ONE of the South Sydney Rabbitohs district A-grade sides, the La Perouse Panthers, is the subject of an SBS documentary tonight at 8pm.
Footy – The La Perouse Way follows the fortunes of the La Perouse Panthers as they battle for the A-grade premiership.
The Panthers have long been a symbol of multicultural Australia where players from all backgrounds take the field united as one.
Over the years the Panthers have had their problems with discipline at times but coach Chris Sait is determined to put at end to that as the Panthers chase their premiership dream.
The Sydney Morning Herald described the documentary as "A must-see sporting spectacular, complete with rock'n'roll soundtrack, colourful language and a few biffs".

The documentary is the first of a number about rugby league and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

On Tuesday August 7 the ABC will screen the first episode in a six part documentary series called ‘The South Side Story’, a fascinating behind the scenes look at the Rabbitohs NRL club and the new era that was ushered in last year when Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes à Court took over.

Anyone watch it last night?

Was a great insight into footy club culture and indigenous, white and other cultures togetherness.

I even caught a glimpse of Darrell Trindall on there.

Yeah i seen the show its amazing how football can bring communities together.
I had to laugh when they had 6 players sent off in the GF,and 7 GF's in a row is a great effort for a team who play for the club and community and not for match payments.
