For fans who remember hating manly in the 80s....

In this weeks RLW, there is a "legend" interview with Mike Eden and he is asked if there was any truth to the theory that manly got preferential treatment in the late 70s and early 80s.

Ii response eden recounts how before one match an official walked in and said "dont worry about the ref today, he is taken care of"! Eden is not kidding, and he further states that the manly players shrugged their shoulders whilst les boyd said "fair dinkum, this never happened at wests"

just thought it was worth pointing out given that the whole jamie lyon/manly saga could rekindle the sizzling hatred of manly....

I don't need any interviews or whatever to rekindle my hatred of Manly...it was always there even when they were the Northern Beagles :lol: :evil: :twisted:

Its so hard to continue to hate Manly. It used to be so easy but now even though they are travelling better than us this year it feels like picking on your little brother - its ok for a while but then you have to find something else to occupy your time.

Manly want to be hated again and probably need to do so to get the big crowds in but their time has passed.

If they do pick up Lyon then I'll probably start to dislike them but its just not the same anymore. ;-)

I used to like Manly back in '98 and '99. They were my second favourite team. Now I hate em to bits, funny how things change so fast. I think every Parramatta supporter must be destined to somehow grow a hatred towards them. It's all in the blue and gold blood

Its hard to hate a team that you feel sorry for :lol: ..... I mean as Suity said just about everything about them is crap and has been for as long as I can remember but its just not fun when they sit at the bottom of the ladder. ;-)
