I caught this on a re-run of spicks and specks this morning.

It was the heavy metal's take on the ''we are the world'' charity thing called ''hearing aid''.

The guitar solo is a highlight.

Dio organised it as metals effort toward Geldof's live aid - and it's a sh*t load better than "christmas" or "We Are the World"

From memory, Ronnie was joined by Rob Halford, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Ted Nugent, and members of bands like Nightranger, Guffria, Queensryche andthe like. And Spinal Tap.

Was all over Music Video on C10 at the time.

And yes, Ron. Strats were the go. Whammy bar era.

agreed, imo he, Halford and Dio owned the vocals,a few others done ok from lesser known groups however. I thought Don Dokken aimed up well.

As for the guitar? Malsteen owned it easily, then Lynch, Gillis then Schoun and Campbell.
