In any case Hegarty can't go, I named my first mascot after him.

Great reading, and yes it is unfortunate that injury has been the reason that we haven't seen him in first grade.

Good Luck against the Cowboys Heggs !! Lets' see what a bit of Latino Heat can do !!

He might have felt like the 'forgotten man', but the fans certainly have not!! Guaranteed he'll fight his way back into a permanent first grade spot. Good luck Hegs, good to see ya back!!

Just read an official statement by Souths that Hegarty has signed with them.

Makes those of us who ranted after reading the exact opposite look stoopid

Now I'm going to have to change my mascots name to .... Stiffler' s Eggs

South Sydney Signs Shannon Hegarty
By Jeremy Monahan

The South Sydney Rabbitohs has today announced the signing of Shannon Hegarty to a three-year contract.

Hegarty, 25, is an international class Centre who represented Australia and Queensland in 2003, as well as winning the Telstra Premiership with the Sydney Roosters in 2002 and played in the 2003 Grand Final with the Roosters against the Penrith Panthers.

Hegarty has played three State of Origin matches for the Maroons and three tests for Australia, touring at the end of last season with the Kangaroos to Great Britain.

Hegarty is a seasoned first grader, playing 100 First Grade games with the Roosters since 1999, scoring 50 tries.

“Shannon is a very talented footballer and is a group leader which is the type of player we want to attract to Souths,” South Sydney CEO Shane Richardson said today.

“He is a quality human being and will be taking a leadership role both on and off the field for the South Sydney Club over the next three seasons.

“He is a young man with a wealth of experience and a bright future in front of him and we are delighted he will be in red and green for the next three years.”

Well done Slugs, I've never been one to put crap on a player because he has to move on. Look after these blokes because you have bought top shelf. I've no doubt that next year you guys are going to be a real force.

Holla if ya hear me said:
Crowd estimate-100

Bought my tickets early this morning. At that stage, approximately 6,000 tickets had been sold. Hopefully there'll be a good walk-up crowd. I'm hoping for 15,000+, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to 12,000.

4 games being played with Flegg kickoff at 2:00pm. It's gonna be a nice long afternoon/evening of football. We've got the reigning Jim Beam Cup Premiers, The Entrance Tigers playing in the penultimate match. I saw them win that Grand Final last year so I'm looking forward to watching the local boys again.

580 of that crowd will be there to watch the Entrance Tigers flips.
Empty ground by kick off
Why watch it when the club is so close and the beer half the price.

20000 novacastrians love it at energy aust. stadium in the warm sunshine of sunday.theyll have to close the gates.
Not like Sat. night when hawkers will have to be employed to try and get the punters in just like at kings cross eh wing Minichello etc etc???

Mojo-you should really get rid of that ridiculous photo of hegarty-hell look good in a bunny jumper-Never to be seen again

16,127 not a bad crowd. How'd ya go Mojo?

Went good. After getting the kids' soccer out of the way and palmed off to the grandparents, I was able to turn up just before half time in the Flegg. Saw two big victories over the hapless Bears and got to watch the third 50+ game with The Entrance thumping Ryde/Eastwood. Bit disappointed by the first grade performance, but at least we walked away with a victory - good to see Heggs back in first grade.
As for getting rid of my Hegarty pic, no way. I'm not going to put sh!t on one of my favourite players just because he's joined another team. I'm not like those Raiders fans!

Hodges only made a token appearance in Premmies. Started on the bench and didn't come on until the 58th minute.

Great game

Great crowd..........a huge amount of which travelled

Great stadium

Shame about the gestapo that pose as crowd security

did anyone else see the poor dude that had his greece flag taken off him by vinegar tits herself and her little lacky

shame on you security.....this guy was doing no harm to anyone but enjoying the game and showing a bit of support to his other team

If central coast really want a team up there they better address these issues or die trying.
