I think this "corner" needs to be called "Bad publicity for Rugby League" or "Bad things that RL players do" because just about everything is controversial.

Maybe it should be called "Controversy Corner".

I said just about everything is controversial - as in just about everything in league, in this forum.

con·tro·ver·sy

A dispute, especially a public one, between sides holding opposing views.

Mostly what controversy corner is about seems to be things that no one wants to really hear about.

Controversey Corner is for off field controversies and incidents. The NRL forum is for talking about football.

Another thread banished to the dark sanctuary of the Contro Corner

Is this the 'see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil' mentality?
No, it doesn't work that way. If it was banished anyhwere, you wouldnt be able to see it.
If you'd rather see the NRL forum swamped with scandal threads, then by all means, lets hear the proposal. But one of the reasons why this CC forum was set up (a year ago) was because people were complaining about the NRL was being over run with one dodgy thread after another. It seemed that League is being heavily scrutinsed by the media and the off-field controversies were not going to go away in a hurry.

Given that we didnt want the NRL forum to be swamped, we had two choices:
1.) Delete controversial threads.
2.) Transfer threads to CC.

We opted for the latter.

And yes, there's always some smart arse looking for inconsistencies.
Not all off-field discussions make it to CC. This being because we can't be everywhere or its simply not a major issue.

btw, rugged, thanks for assiting in the development of the forum rules and quoting from the dictionary. lol
You might be served better if you had a quick look at the CC Rules. These are posted as an announcement just above the regular CC threads and start with the words: 'READ THIS'. 8)

Willow, he's not referring to the threads being moved NRL  CC

He's referring to the mods pulling the threads in CC. I think it was a ridiculous and stupid thing to do but they had their reasons and as usual, "management is always right" so I won't bother fighting it.

:whistle moving along...

Dodge.
It might seem unfair sometimes, but this is Willow's site, and he is ultimately responsible for the content here. We live in a litigious world and it's the Mods job to make sure that what is posted here isn't going to get the site in trouble.
Free speech is fine if you aren't the one who has to answer for it.
Think about it from the other side.

I don't think you followed the meaning of my post. Its to do with people simply having their say in the right forum and assisting moderators by reading the rules and guidelines.

Thats a bit rich coming from someone who had a running battle with moderators for a day and a half.
You were trying to post an unsubstantiated claim.

Regarding matters of a 'ridiculous and stupid' nature, here's some irony for you: watching Dodge repeatedly taking on people who are making sure the site remains open for him to post in.

I was simply relaying the words I had heard reported on Channel 10 news, so it was hardly unsubstantiated.

Dodge, you should know better than that mate. What you heard on TV is unsubstantiated if you heard it differently to others.
I know where you're coming from btw. I used to think I was always right. But then I lost a few bets. LOL ;-)
