Some new information has come to light on the Paramatta deal, there not just renegotiating the clauses and the report that 'Foran will get every dollar coming to him' seems questionable regarding this new information.

However, it's also not a done deal that Kieran Foran is going to walk, and Brad Arthur is facing the sack.

I love how the media paint Daly Cherry-Evans a villain for not honoring a contract for poor business ethics, but Parramatta gets left off the hook for not honoring it's original deal. Can anyone say double standards????

According to News Limited reports the Eels have been renegotiating with Foran's management with a revised deal worth $600,000 less than the agreed amount over four years, which has prompted the New Zealand Test five-eighth to get cold feet.

It is understood Foran is prepared to waive the pay-out clause but wants a get-out if coach Arthur loses his job, which Parramatta initially refused but have now agreed to.

You are joking right?

Every man and his Namibian have come out of the woodwork and bagged of Parra since this fiasco yesterday. Probably moreso than any club since the cheating scandal.

They have been criticized but not to the same extent that Daly Cherry-Evans has been. It's the same with Michael Jennings and Penrith, where Jennings wanted to stay on the original deal but Penrith wanted him gone. The media coverage on honoring a contract goes alot softer on clubs then they do on the player, I stand by that comment.

Truth is Daniel Anderson should never have been pumped and dumped half a season after taking them to a Grand Final from the year before that finishing in the bottom 1/3 of the ladder.

Definitely agree with this.

Not sure Arthur is the right guy either considering how the team seems to switch off at times during games.

Daniel Anderson is actually one of the more successful coaches of all time if you look at his record with the Eels and Warriors.
in 4 years of coaching he has had two Grand finals, and a shock Warriors finals series in 2001.

He just hasnt had the same timeframe as the Bellamys and Bennetts.
There must be some political issue with him as I cant believe he's been axed from two clubs.

Considering how much shit is going on in the background in surprised BA has been able to get the players to win the games they have won. Especially with DA seemingly gunning for his job

On top of all the other f**kups, why are Parramatta trying to renegotiate now? If Foran and his agent have got that much power and flexibility written down on black and white why would they give it up?

The Eels f**ked up, now they're making it worse.

Well seems like he has agreed to take the clauses out that would give him money. And a new one is in that if BA is gone he can go freely too.

As long as he's got some bargaining power I guess he doesn't care

This is exactly why Jason Taylor didn't take the job when it was offered to him from Parramatta. Taylor had the same problem at Souths when CEO Shane Richardson brought John Lang as a 'football consultant', who been head coach for Richardson at Cronulla and Penrith created tension between Taylor and Lang. Taylor would eventually be sacked and Lang would get the job.

Having a former Parramatta coach looking over you're shoulder who harbours ambitions to coach again creates too much of a conflict of interest.

Anderson needs to go so Arthur can be given a better chance to succeed with no one white acting him

Arthur isn't the super coach the players say he is - would be happy for him to get sacked or leave

Seriously? That would only bring instability among the players (even more so) once Arthur has no one gunning for his job in the background I'm sure everything will be fine

I guess that's what happens when you read media articles.

Eels didn't renege on the deal, the NRL refused to register the contract it due to the payout clause. It's been posted in a media release from Steve Sharp.

Foran wont walk.

Arthur wont get sacked, wtf does it have to do with him anyway.

Just a hypothetical, and sorry if this has already been brought up but,
Parra are currently in salary cap trouble for paying players who are no longer currently at the club. If foran triggers the $1 million get out clause does that come under the cap? Could parramatta be paying for a player who's never been at the club and have it count under the cap (in the event that Foran walks)

Firstly the salary cap problems are due to our NSW cup team having a heap of injuries and we have used a lot of players as a result.

Secondly the payout clause was not allowed by the NRL so it wont happen.
