I agree with what R20 says most of the time. But I'm just saying you can't count players out due to age as all those players that are counted as "too young" haven't got their shot yet. They're all the same age as Murray is what I'm saying so they could be just as good.

Biggest problem with our squad is the inconsistent players. As R20 says we only have about 13 consistent first graders. Hunt, Jennings, AR, Sutton, turner and George are all extremely inconsistent players. They'll come out one week have a great game and then the next they'll struggle immensely. George and AR being the specials as they're on big money.

It probably was time for Goodwin to exit the NRL & I think he realised this himself.

But he was,as I said,one of our more consistent players in the club & better than his younger competitors. He was picked in every game in 2017,I think,as the coach valued his experience & 110% effort.

Oi Doyen they just brought out the top 5 offloaders for us in 2017 and Goodwin is in that as well.

So he's in the top 5:

it dont matter what coach you have remember bennett in newcastle?? he bought 28 players to newcastle and failed and bennett was a dud ....

bennett bought 9 1st grade run on players at stmerge so he had to go close then he won a premiership id suggest if he had not bought those 9 players he would not had won a premiership at stmerge .....

storm have the cattle so where are they?

broncos have the cattle along with easts and nth qld where as newc/tigpies/souths/ETC dont have the cattle so where did they all end up nowhere WE ALL HAD NO CATTLE SO WE CANT WIN .

bellamy/green/bennett will always do well along with manly/easts because they all buy the big name players .

who did souths buy - farah/kelly/nielsen/cherro/rochow/gosie/greinke.burns.jennings/and we use talakai/turner/tyrrell/clark ETC ETC ETC....cant you all see they are shiiit dud players would all of these players above be bought by bellamy/bennett/green NO WAY THEY ARE NOT THAT DUMB TO BUY ALL OF THESE DUDS ....

Then we have about 13. It doesn't cut it.........

Totally agree---he is a pretty valuable player for the reasons you express.

And I believe he is held in high esteem for what he brings to the team & club off-field.

It would be utter craziness to cast aside great clubmen in the Clarke mould!
