bs! cody is very quick!

So far, overall,Sths are going a bit better than I expected.

Hunt has been a positive.

Brown is a work in progress & is doing fine.He could end up a real good player if given a fair go.

Turner is going well enough--he will click eventually,I reckon.

Sam needs to tone his game down for self preservation, & prop,IMO,is his safest bet--best for the team too.

McInnes will develop into a Cam Smith type--he is special--but he is young & inexperienced really & needs time. He is a future leader.

All of our halves are performing satisfactorily under the circumstances & are good players.

I don't think our depth is anything special & there are a few that appear ordinary;eg. theTyrrell,Clarke type etc. But they do give their very best & are pretty good defensively which always suits our coach's plan.

I'm reasonably happy so far & optimistic!!

cook can play 5/8 no probs

Somehow Cook ended up at hooker, but a lot of his game has been played in the halves & at F/B in the past--he is quick,no doubt, but I don't believe he is built, or has the heart, for the heavy forward stuff. He'd probably do OK at 5/8.

TBH though,I reckon our halves are having a fair crack at present!

me too doyen. the only thing i don't really agree with is sam at prop. at lock he can target some opposition players out wider when we are attacking, but it doesn't mean he has to do more work. at lock he can decrease the hit ups a bit, and focus a bit more on attracting opposition defenders and passing

i take a bit of the blame for shadow wanting cook in the halves. in one of the threads i suggested that cook should be halfback whilst reyno is out, because cody and keary don't have a dominate kicking game, and i thought that cook might have had a better kicking game

get rid of the (9)dead wood players below!!!!!!and buy 3 decent 1st graders either mid season or at least for 2017 clean out the under performers.

tyrrell,clark,,goodwin,keary,walker,murphy,nielsen,oldfield,gray..

this should be the team:

1.inglis 2. aj 3 hunt 4 auvaa 5 (buy mid june) 6 cook 7 reynolds

8 gburg 9 mcinnes 10 sburg 11 grevs 12 turner 13 brown

reserves: musgrove tburg (buy mid season) (buy mid season)

gosiewski and brock gray and hughes and a few others are not up to 1st grade standard as yet leave them where they are!!!!just get rid of the 9 dead wood players above goodwin's use by date is near we dont need walker and keary it seems cam can play hooker and definately cook can play 5/8 and if need be cook can back cam up at any time in the no9 role!none of this dead wood would play at the broncos would they? maybe keary is an out side chance if hunt or milford was injured why keep all these duds in 1st grade please explain?time for some drastic action richo get the big broom out hope your reading this too madge?!!!!what duds have the broncos got playing for them at the moment tell me????none i suggest...their recruiting is too smart for all to see i suggest!!!

We do need a clean out. But on your list only Tyrell needs to go.
But in saying that, I don't think Souths will release Tyrell, he
could make 1m and make 1 tackle a game. But as long as he is
A "good trainer" Unfortunately he will remain in our 17

I worry that Sam won't be able to sustain his 80 min. effort at lock with his manic approach to the game without coming unstuck big time;especially in defence where he throws himself headlong into tackles with no regard for the consequences. He plays like this when given a roving commission & I know he is terrific at it--but I don't believe it can last.

And without Sam on the paddock in a leader's role we are in trouble!!

It's a bad policy,IMO,to burn out your biggest asset!

In almost all other ways Madge seems to take a conservative approach---he needs to do it with his greatest asset as well!
