Why would you replace Walker at five eighth for a hooker?

What has Walker done to be persona non grata.

I thought he and McInnes have done pretty well, though McInnes silenced everyone for a week.

Maybe he has to keep scoring two tries a game.

There are a few forwards who are just getting hammered though - namely Clark and Tyrell.

cook can play hooker 5/8 and full back thats why.

cook can cover mcinnes if shuffled to another position or when injured

look at the top 4 teams they dont have any where near as many duds that souths have its time to cull these players not keep them

question: how many of these 9 players above would play for the broncos?or the cowboys? keary would be a chance only id say and goodwin is getting too long in the tooth and tyrrell is a dud neilsen is a dud murphy is a dud and oldfield is a 2nd tier esl dud player shall i go on?too many duds for my liking people on here say we need these 2nd tier duds i reckon cull em!and find a better replacement not so much of a dud as these 9 players are.

stupid post , worthy of a troll.

Most of the players listed for clean out are on cheap money, except for Keary.

So we replace them with what ........other cheap money players who are suddenly going to come good and are only on the market because they cannot make their top side or have their own issues ........meantime the whole CLUB is left in turmoil as dedicated club players are pushed out.

And you would only push KEary/Walker out if you had a quality running 5/8 to replace them ala Foran, Bird style .

As for Cook playing 5/8 ........i do not care what he plays, so far however he has not finished a game because he is getting hurt each game.As such i would not be banking my team on him in any role just yet. Bench is the right place for him and he then cover halves/fullback/hooker/backrow as required.

i take a bit of the blame for shadow wanting cook in the halves. in one of the threads i suggested that cook should be halfback whilst reyno is out, because cody and keary don't have a dominate kicking game, and i thought that cook might have had a better kicking game

Look what you've started :crazy::crazy:...............

me too doyen. the only thing i don't really agree with is sam at prop. at lock he can target some opposition players out wider when we are attacking, but it doesn't mean he has to do more work. at lock he can decrease the hit ups a bit, and focus a bit more on attracting opposition defenders and passing

I think Madge knows Sam is at more risk of injury at lock even if he decreases workload a bit.

We just need Sam on the field alien.

But yes I agree his best position is lock.

I think the difference between sam at lock or sam at prop is minimal. With either 8 or 13 on his back his job remains the same, make hit-ups and defend in the middle. He is essentially a 3rd prop when he plays at lock. Souths aren't alone in this, eastwood, taumololo, gallen, trobavijtch, merrin, de belin, and even guys like myles and taupau in the past, have played the extra prop role in the 13 jumper. When sam plays 13 it means we are going for a 3 prop game plan, when sam plays 8 it means we are going for a 2 prop game plan with a more mobile back row (essentially a mobile back rower replacing tyrell for example). Sams role itself doesn't change much between 8 or 13 ( though usually because a player with better endurance is playing 13 it affords sam more of an opportunity for a bench spell)

At lock Sam plays more of a roaming role on the field like he did in 2014.

I disagree Diego.

He still roams as a prop, as do all the quality props like graham, jwh and bromwich. Sam plays exactly the same wether prop or lock.
