Former Eel Rod Maybon Bashed

Some more sad news for our game.

The Telegraph has reported today that former Eel Rod Maybon has was savagley beaten in a fight at Kings Cross.

Apparantley, he was clinically dead at one stage before being revived by Paramedics.

He was taken to St Vinnies with a severed artery and was placed on life support. Thankfully, he came off that on Monday and has returned home.

Another sad event for our game.

I always liked Maybon as a player.

THis is terrible news for Rugby League, same thing to what happened with Hookesy.

He was a good player at Parramatta, a shame he only played there for a year.

Yeah i was annoyed when Maybon had to go to the Rams.
He was a gun player for Parramatta.

Lyon: Had SL started in 1996 instead of 1997 then Maybon would never had been an Eel.

As for the incident on the weekend I hope that Rod gets well soon.

Yeah thats true Hurriflatch, in fact he left St.George because he signed with SL and thought the Rams were gonna be in the comp in 1996, so Parramatta picked him up when he was with no club at the time.

It was a confusing start to the year in 1996. That year saw Tallis miss the whole season, before he joined the Broncos.
