Knights looked ok, but the Roosters were horrid. I'm yet to see another team putting together a performance deserving of finishing in the finals with us.

I tend to agree. Roosters looked dreadful. No communication. It will be fascinating to see if Robinson can drag them back into being a force.

I'm not writing them off. I'm sure they will still be a force, I was just a bit surprised how bad they were today.

Its round 1. We were brilliant but i certainly wouldnt be reading anything into teams after 1 round and worried about which teams are finals worthy.

Its such a long season. Well know by the end of origin period who is sitting pretty in terms of the run home, form and injuries.

Teams like, melbs and the roosters will be a force regardless to how they perform over the opening rounds. They have coaches that are just to good for their team not to be top 4 or thereabouts.

I'm just having a bit of fun. I've been around long enough to know that round 1 form doesn't mean much.

Given the timing of it I'll never hold the crap in the media against him. He did more than enough in the years prior to be cut some slack over some words.

The call was correct, but it could have been handled better. I genuinely think the club thought they were doing the right thing by Josh doing it how they did, rip the band aid off and give him time to sort out how he wanted to play it out. But while that kind of approach would work for a person who is measured and analytic, it's not going to go well with someone who wears their heart on their sleeve. It's pretty obvious where Josh falls on the personality spectrum.
Well said. Josh wears his heart on his sleeve and that heart is all Penrith.

for those who bet. Knights were a certainty today

No one trialed at the Roosters. So many new combinations they will be a slow start this year

Josh will rank as one of our greatest Panthers, his record speaks for itself. But for catastrophic injuries he would have achieved even more in his time with us. A truly great player, great person and great Panther there is nothing he did wrong and his legacy will live long in my memory.

One of my fav ever ex panthers, the peach, looking very fit and going great for the tiges in the first 40.

Real shame to see george jennings go down with an acl. Poor bloke.
Yes I saw the Gennings injury. So innocuous in how it looked. One side step and down he went. It wasn’t long after he scored his try as well.

Hopefully, he’ll rehab well but I would assume that’s the end of his season ☹️

Peach is the perfect modern fourteen.

Incredible how bad he is as a starter compared to a benchie.

Just over plays his hand when wearing a starting number.

I wouldve loved to bring the peach back for 2 years.

He is still a very very good player..

And i imagine him coming off the bench for us when we are on a roll and opposition teams are tired hed be soo hard to stop.

Kenny and salmon just dont even have a wuarter of his x factor.

But they are about half Peach's salary which is probably the most important factor.

Cant imagine peach would be on much these days. And we couldve got him cheaper thsn the tiges as the alure of potentially winning a comp in a great team saves you a bit.

Sure hes worth more but he offers way more to.

Anyway, hope he has a good year.
