I'm looking for info on the success of it as the specialist told us yesterday that it's quite new. A nuss bar will be inserted. I know he'll require two months recovery time and it's very painful. I was thinking you may be able to direct me to getting a bit more info.

He's just recently been made Manager in his company and his boss can't give him time off until December, so we are getting a second opinion. He starts Uni part time in June and will get a break from study during this time as well. Which gives me enough time to fully check it all out. I have threatened to ground him as an alternative, though judging his laughing reaction to that he obviously thinks I'm joking. ;-)

All unbeknown to me and was told the procedure was too invastive and to live with it. He was having trouble breathing and couldn't shake a chest cold which also was causing chest pains and the gp noticed it and suggested and wrote a referral. The thing that concerned me was that the specialist has only performed 6 of these types of operations before and couldn't really give me information on long term affects, basically saying he didn't know. On the postitive, the specialist he sees operates at Prince Charles [Chermside Chest Hospiltal] and the Holy Spirit, which are top hospitals and are highly regarded. I've joined a forum in America and am badgering people for information and the parents and patients all have had successful results. I've also gone through old photo's and it really wasn't evident when he was younger. He says it didn't become noticable until he was about 12. I'm chatting with a guy who had the op at 22 and his wasn't noticable until he was into his teens either.
Was it BP's wearing his leopard print g'string that got J banned from surfing ;-)
