Frank Endacott has loaned two first grade players to National League 1 Doncaster for the Play Offs, with the aim of them helping the Dons win the Grand Final. Should they achieve it, it would automatically ensure Widnes' survival in Super League as Doncaster are already aware of their inability to meet the pre-requisites for entering Super League.

Wow, that's quite a cunning feat. When all else fails, eh?

The deadline for registration of players was today, so he got in just in time...

Well, Rochdale beat Doncaster (45-30) today, so thst went as well as Widnes's surrender to Warrington (60-16)

From the current edition of League Weekly.

While ex-Warrington Wolves scrum-half or full-back Gary Hulse and South Sea Island centre or back-rower Sala Fa’alogo have signed for the rest of the season, ex-Wigan Warriors and Ireland international prop Terry O’Connor rejected the move [from Widnes to Doncaster along with Wales prop David Mills and ex-Huddersfield wingman or centre Matthew Whitaker.

Elsewhere in LW, Endacott has a good moan about injuries which he reckons denied Widnes a top 6 place.

That is a bit of a bastard thing to do, Widnes deserve to be relegated they have been one of the consistantly worst ESL sides in recent memory, I say let another club have a shot at the big time this is what promotion/relegation is about, doing the hard yards to make it to the top.

Thought that was a bit rich... the other way of looking at it is that Widnes just didn't have as much depth as others to cover the needs of a full season?
