No one really seems to get what constant abuse will do to the game. Whenever there is an incident everyone is quick to condemn the attackers and defend the refs and the important job they do, but come next game day the same people are shouting obscenities at the ground or commenting utter shit on this forum and other social media or ranting about ref decisions on TV. We can tell people to shut the f**k up as many times as we can but judging on current trends its only going to get worse until it literally reaches a crisis point.
It's probably the ugliest side to the game and if ever anything was to drive me away from it, it would be ref abuse.
