After listening to the new Silverchair album i thought i would look through my collection in search of Frogstomp.. I had forgotten how bloody good this album was/is...

Israels son is an absolute classic. I can't recall how old they were when they made this but it's probably their best IMO...

I like the new one, has taken a while though.. Like i have said about Metallica's load if someone else made the album it would have been easier to like.. After a lot of listens though i can really appreciate it for what it is..

15 or 16?? Amazing stuff..

A truly GREAT album there Mong. I can still remember this in the height of the 90's grunge scene, and it was great then, and is still great now. Originally i thought Meh, these kids are just too young ... but Israel's Son was the song that showed me how great they are, and it is STILL on my regular playlist ... i just love it as it brings back some great memories. (Mind you im a 90's s**t ... i still think the very best era of music was the late 60s/early 70's but the 90's owned hard as well).

They were very good for their age, no doubting that.

Too bad the lyrics are absolutely woeful.

The fact that they were only 4 years old or whatever when they made it doesn't mean I want to hear about the tapwater being "very hard to drink".

But I agree about Israel's Son - great track.

Lyrics are secondary to the sound and feel of the song to me... I don't particularly care what they are saying as long as the sound is great...

Yes well I wouldn't call them great. They've grown on me a little bit over the years.

Freak is still one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

But they've had some decent ones too. The new album is crap.

Bring back the Baby Animals!!!

and what do you base that on Hevy?

That album is a hell of a lot better than much of the rubbish being produced these days. It may not be your cup of tea, but crap it is not.

I base it on the fact that it's crap - and yes I agree it is better than much of the rubbish being produced today.

I also base it on the fact that their previous two albums were far better.

It sounded more creative actually - but I know you prefer simple and that's fair enough. To each their own.

And that's why i love 80's hair rock, the whole sound and feel is wonderful.

I'm only young so I wasn't around when Frogstamp was released, but I've recently downloaded all their songs. The sound is decent, but I can't get my head around the lyrics. I can't believe people compare this album to some of Nirvana and Pearl Jam's best music.
