I hope you are as proud of your team as I am following Saturday nights heart breaking loss to the Storm down in Melbourne.

As I said to them after the game, they put in so much to win the game, but in the end it was not the players who determined the result, it was the men with the whistle, flags and remote control.

I was really pleased with how we stuck to the task and fought back on a couple of occasions against a home team playing some pretty good football.

There were some disappointing decisions made that hurt our team badly, even if you put to one side the last try and the try that took them to 16 points, when we thought the ball was clearly grounded in touch. The amount of penalties that were blown at crucial times for non descript offences which were then ignored later in the game leave us all scratching our heads. Our boys deserved better than what they received for the efforts they made.

We threw some young blokes into the deep end in Ben Smith and Feleti Mateo and we were all really happy with how they represented their Club for the first time in First Grade.

Back to home we go on Saturday with a big game against our neighbourly rivals the Wests Tigers. They too were the victims of a number of bad calls last week, and both teams are already preparing for a massive game.

The boys played well but didnt come up trumps. Am happy with the way they are playing but are losing the 50/50 games. Looks good though.

What I cant fathom is the mucking around with the team. Let them play as a unit when they are playing well. Give M Witt a go and let him play out the rest of the year. Make him beleive he has trust in him so he isnt worried about being dropped week to week.

A reason that I can think of for Smith playing Thorman instead of Witt last week was to allow the ESL clubs chasing Thorman to have a look at him in the top grade. I remember him doing the same thing a few years ago with John Simon. Similarly, he was announced as having signed with the Warrior the week following.

On that basis, I think we can expect to see Witt in the No.7 for the rest of the year.

Agree Morenito - Once they have made the grade, give them a chance. And why would BS play Thorman to help off load him to other clubs. If he knew Thorman was going, why not concentrate on our future?
