PARRAMATTA

English halfback Chris Thorman will return home at the end of the season to join Canberra hooker Brad Drew and Brisbane centre Michael De Vere at Huddersfield. Thorman, who will make his seventh NRL appearance since joining the Eels against Wests Tigers on Saturday night, is the third player released to Super League in as many days following Wise Kativerata (Widnes) and David Vaealeki (Wigan). Kativerata, however, has been refused a visa to join the Vikings immediately and will remain with Parramatta for the remainder of the season and is now looking for a new NRL contract.

Kativerata wasn't named in any grade so I wonder if he'll come into reggies with Ben Smith getting promoted again.

Manly getting Katieverta is looking more likley

Manly have said they'll be signing an international centre currently playing with Parramatta who is seeking a release

- Kativerata is a centre
- Kativerata plays for Parra
- Kativerata has played tests for Fiji
- Kativerta seeked a release

BULLDOGS

Halfback Brett Oliver yesterday re-signed

Were some people hoping Parra would look at him

NORTH QUEENSLAND

Rookies Brenton Bowen, Jacob Lillyman and Drew Campbell have all agreed to new one-year deals, while the club is talking to Neil Sweeney and Hale Vaa'sa about extending their stay with the club.

Parra had been linked to B.Bowen

SOUTH SYDNEY

Halfback Willie Peters may return to the Rabbitohs next year after revealing the Widnes deal he recently accepted is for only the remainder of the season. Peters told Rugby League Week he had agreed to the short-term arrangement before Paul Langmack's sacking and was eager to play under Shaun McCrae and Shane Richardson, who were in charge of Gateshead when he first went to Britain in 1999.

Souths were linked to SEan Long if Peters comes back they may drop off Long.

WARRIORS

After missing out on a contract with Bradford, Cronulla prop Chris Beattie has re-opened talks with the Warriors.

Parra had also been linked to Beattie

I'm so happy we didn't get Beattie, the dirty prick would have been a disgrace to the Parra colours.

Don't think Souths are/were a chance with Sean Long.... Wigan just let Martin Gleeson get bought out by Warrington - they wouldn't let another under-contract international go so soon after, surely?

Word over here was that people were worried current Hull half Richard Horne might tag along with McRae. He's been tearing it up the past month or two.

It's all gossip though, nothing been confirmed or denied as yet.
