How does a coach like John Lang instill a hunger or desire to win in souths players? I haven't seen the eye of the tiger in the last two weeks.
There are several players on huge dollars who are just coasting.
I dare say if John Lang loses another five matches, he will get sacked as coach.
Shane Richardson's job will be on the line as well. He was responsible for
Rhys Wesser, Garrett Crossman and Ben Ross.

All dud buys at this stage.
On top of this, we don't even have a reserve back up for our halves.:crazy:

Adam Reynolds can't step up from Under 20's. I've watched the games, he's too small and he would get found out in defence.

How can you call ben Ross a dud?
A soon as he has his clearance we will have a rep quality player on the field getting payed next to nothing.
If he doesn't get the clearance he was still payed next to nothing, its not a big loss.
I thought Wesser was a lot stronger in the titans game than he was the week before, he has played hardly any football in his time with us, if he stays on the park and keeps improving he will have been a worth while investment.
I expect that if Souths lose 5 games, you will stop pretending to be a supporter and start publically proclaiming your love of the Storm again.

Geez I think you are going a bit overboard. I'm disappointed too but we lost a game by one point to a team that is 4th in line on the TAB to take out the whole thing.

Big improvement from the previous week, halves need to improve and are capable of such, put the razor blades away for now.

Actually, I think aggression is not the problem. I've seen some stinging hits in the last two games.

What's lacking is control and composure.

There is definitely a problem in the halves department and frankly there is no easy answer. Sutton and Sandow need to play themselves into some form and in a hurry. Next round is the best opportunity they're going to get all season. Kill or be killed, as DaveQ might say.

The only other issue I see is Lang's interchange strategy. If he really wants to persist with it then for God's sake be smarter about it! With Ross (hopefully) and Crocker and Pettybourne at his disposal, that mightn't seem like such a crazy strategy. In the meantime, pick the side to suit the strategy if you want to use it. Put Stuart and Taylor on the bench and put in Geddes and Tyrell.

Isn't much worse than the 8-13 named for Round 2, but the pack after the interchange would look a dam sight better.

I'd rather keep Burgess on and swap Lowe for Clark (who both seem better defensively than offensively) on the first interchange ... but Stuart would help keep the cartage ticking over while keeping some form in defence.

Taylor meanwhile brings impact. Yeah, he's probably best utilised running wider, but until Ross and Crocker are back, either Asotasi has to play more minutes or Taylor needs to spend some time in the middle.

McPherson has been running and defending well. I'd still prefer Tyrell to him when Crocker and Pettybourne return.

Why can't Sutton be dropped? He is out of form and maybe it is what he needs.. I don't think you can blame Sandow for his poor kicking in general play and inability to put people through holes.. I don't think Sutton deserves his spot..

I do understand what you mean.. But to be honest the amount of first grade football Sutton has played and the amount of inconsistencies in his game is pretty average, this has probably been shown with the no rep football he has played. Let’s face it if he was in form last year and killing it the blues would have picked him for sure! I think maybe he does need to be dropped as a wakeup call and then we may see the type of football he produced in patches last year but more consistently.

In a perfect world maybe there'd be some depth that would allow such a move. What would you suggset be done with the players currently at the club's disposal?

Both Sutton and Sandow are confidence players. When they are up, they are way up there, but when they are flat they can't seemingly do anything right.

I think you can afford one such player if you have another rock solid reliable player to partner them in the halves (e.g. Soward/Hornby, Roberts/Kimmorley).

Lacking an "old, cool head", though, I personally worry that if the Rabbitohs were to fiddle too much with Sutton and Sandow, it might set them even further back. You can see when they are trying too hard.

It's a genuine problem. Losing Wing was always going to be tough, especially as there are so few proven halves that ever end up on the market. While losing Craig helped the Bunnies secure a powerful forward pack ... it came at a big cost to depth in the halves.
