What do you guys reckon the full strength tigers backline would be??

Id have to go as follows:
1. Brett Hodgson
2.Jason Moodie
3.Shane Elford
4.Dene Halatau
5.Pat Richards
6.Benji Marshal
7.Scotty Prince

I'd keep Halatau over Reynolds, maybe Reynolds instead of Elford? tough call though. :?

the back 5 would be great to see in action.. very dangerous.. all capable of scoring a try..
i'd think at this stage of benji's career i wouldn't have him in the 5.. as much as he brings to the team, there's sum things he doesn't..
so for the purpose of a hypothetical backline atm i would go with kerr in the 7 and prince in the 6

1. Hodgson
2. Moodie
3. Elford
4. Halatau
5. Richards
6. Prince
7 Kerr

i think with that backline.. and the forward pack we had against the warriors.. the tigers could do anything

hard to get a backline to compare when inform. I think you might be right though about Benji Marshal - I believe he is more of a centre then 5/8 but his defence needs improving along with size.

Reynolds in the centres??????

WHAT A F**KING JOKE!!

He sucked in his preferred half/5/8th position - let alone considering him in the centres!!!

I hope we cut him in the off-season!!!

1.Hodgson
2.Moodie
3.Halatau
4.Elford
5.Richards
6.Marshall

Look the kid can play but Snide your right about the center option though he couldn't never play in the centers - Maybe Palms your confusing Reynolds with Buettner ???

I know Reynolds has ability - but his performances against Brisbane - Saints and Manly (prior to injury) were woefully inept!!

And his presence also diminshed the form of those around him - with Prince having a shocker against Saints and being sh*thouse against Manly until Reynolds left the field!! When Ben limped off - Scotty found his zone and had a stormer as we launched our late comeback!

I just can't rate the bloke on what I've seen!!

I wouldn't either if I based my view on the games he played for us this year - but he does have talent and if injuries didn't hit him he would of been a very good buy for us.

Anyway no point really worrying about it since he is gone for the rest of the season and being its his second major injury to that same part of his leg I very much doubt he will be back in the top grade at all which is a shame

As someone who has watched plenty of premier league, not just balmain or wests games, over the last few years I have never seen why people value Ben Reynolds. The best halves Ive seen in Premier League over the last few years have been Joe Williams (apart from his defense), Deane Byrne, Matthew Head, Kerr, Russel Aitken in no particular order. I always thought Reynolds had some strengths to his game but he always had some massive weaknesses, namely organisation and consistency. This year just reinforced this view

Ask a heap of the guys over at Penrith and I think you will find his organisation was his strongest point over there, and when he steamed into first grade the same happened until he broke his leg - he even forced Gower to play 5/8th instead of halfback because of how well he was playing!

I wouldn`t be too critical on Ben Reynolds. He can play, but didn`t have much help in way of willing runners in the games he played.Last weeks line up with this week being similar, had plenty of hard willing runners and look at the result!!!

mate that was roycies choice which was quickly rectified when Lang became coach. Moving Gower back to half quickly fixed a lot of Penrith's problems. Dont put much stock in Roycie's selection. Top bloke but as for coaching ... well hes a tob bloke

cheers

Actually Gower played half for the 2nd half of the season after Reynolds broke his leg (the same leg that is broken now) again and then they happened to pick up Preston - and well there was no chance for him to crack into that squad after that especially with Priddis in at Hooker!!!!

sorry mate Im not going to agree with you on reynolds. Have never seen it and never will. Good premier league half and thats it. But thats the funny thing about football. I ve always thought Skando sucked but for some people on this forum he is gods gift. Go figure
