Cooper's defence has saved countless tries. Our game is built on defence and I think Tagive may not have the required defence. I'm not sure what his technique is like. It may be good but centre is a tricky defensive position and it requires good decision making which comes from experience.

With so many second man plays, the centre and back rower have little margin for error.

I did say IF Cooper retired. Creagh, Hornby and Morris would still be out there, making Tagive's job easier. He just looks the goods to me. Kinda like a young Lote. Time will tell if he can defend or not.

I can see it now. Towering bomb.. Nightingale circles 3 and a half times waiting for it to drop. He ends up catching it facing his own line, Drops the ball BUT onto his own foot, which then kicks the ball in to his own face. He then stumbles backwards (forwards as he is facing his own line) and back heels the ball through the kick chase line into the clear. He then realises that a play is on and rushes for the ball side steps a ghost along the way, picks up the ball and scoots directly sideways infield towards the recovering defenders who are so confused they can only stand there and watch as Nightingale finally straightens and pulses towards the try line with 1 boot left behind, throws a few dummies to no one and dives for a try under the posts and punctures the ball with his landing.

...then signals the square so the ref knows he needs to check the video!

Agree, but isn't that why we are at something like $1.05 to take a 2 pointer as first points in most markets sometimes?

We're never that short (and really, to be that short is just silly) - the shortest i've seen us for the penalty as first scoring play is around $8.

What's wrong with Green? His has been real impressive this year as a hard working front rower. He takes the ball up twice in sets. Gets stuck in defence. Very rarely makes errors in defence. Hardly drops the ball and is always alive hence why is has regathered so may loose balls on the ground.

Go have a look at his stats on nrlstats.com for this season. Bennett has given him Saffy's spot. That I have no doubt.

Whoa there champ. I don't want to get rid of Green at all. Just quality depth for the rotation is all I'm talking about. Its early days, but I don't think that Greenfield will make the grade and Cuthbertson is a back rower who may be in the same boat.

Early days, as I said. I'm sure one of the young props will step up.

Tagive's best asset is his defence actually, he prides himself on defence. I'd love to see him given an opportunity if Cooper calls it a day.

Not the greatest player at catching a bomb....has troubles under the high ball lately. Any time would use this to their advantage.

Another idea although you guys might not like it is shift Hornby back to FB. I tend to think he's a better FB than HB.

Last night on the Fox Sports post-game show, Soward was the guest and he said that if Boyd does go (which didn't seem a certainty from him); it'd be Goodwin or Stanley. They asked about Nightingale and Soward said that a fullback needs ball playing skills, and no disrespect to Jason, but that's not his strength.

Fox commentator: "Where will Darius Boyd be playing next year?"
Soward: "Fullback"
