Since the inception of the ARL (now NRL), the Eels hold the record for longest reign as minor premiers. After winning the minor premiership, nobody took it from us for 3 straight years (so 4 in total).
In fact, that is the longest period a team hasn't been replaced as minor premiers since the 60s Dragons team (unlimited tackles), and that club has since gone by the wayside.
So, since the 6 tackle rule came in, no club has won more consecutive premierships (3 in a row), or had a period of 4 years without being replaced as minor premiers.
*yes, I realize we didn't win 4 in a row, the MP we won in 2005 was not replaced until 2009 since the cheats were stripped, so we ruled in 2005,6,7 and 8. Of course, I am very happy for someone to suggest the 2nd placed team on the premiership ladder should be awarded the MP for those seasons, in which case the SeaEagles and Eels would be awarded another premiership.
