I enjoy these movies just for a bit of dumb action fun, but to be honest this one was too much for me.

Spoiler alert I suppose...

I can take Paul Walker and his Mrs falling 3 stories onto corregated iron and surviving. I am down with 2 Dodge Chargers being able to pull a 50 tonne safe like it was made of styrofoam through the streets of Brazil. I'll even hack Vin Diesel somehow managing to jump from a car going what must have been 100km/h, clear a 5-6m gap, catch a flying Letty going equally fast in the other direction, then cushioning the fall on a nice soft car windshield.

But you are going to try and get me to buy that Jason Stratham can take on the mother f**king ROCK one one one, including absorbing a goddamned rock bottom, and still actually win the fight? Get thet f**k outta here

Let's just put it this way... in 2 weeks, this movie has already brought in over $800,000,000 and it will break the billion dollar barrier. If Star Wars or Avengers beat this take in I will ban myself from this forum!

the most geniused thing for me was when brian jumped off the bus that was slipping down the cliff and letty just knew to slide her car along the cliffedge so brian could catch it and survive. Like how?

I understand its a meaningless fun sort of action film but they should atleast try to make it not cringeworthy.

I believe that Rock Bottom stunned the pom.

That was obviously pretty stupid, but it was at least in line with other stunts in the series like the tank jump.

In past movies they at least used to keep the fights some what evenly matched, and the fighting style always just outright street brawling. In FF7 suddenly the whole gang are next level martial arts masters able to perform slick combination moves and to take down multiple opponents. Threw the whole thing out of whack.

I don't understand what scene you're referring to. There's always been pretty good fights scenes with gangs etc...

Aren't we comparing 3 very different target markets of movies here?
  1. Furious 7 - action
  2. Avengers - children, teens, young adults
  3. Star Wars - nerds

*Waits for abusive reply*

yeah i don't really agree with that. star trek is more a nerdy thing, but star wars is cool

Mate this doesn't make it a good movie.

A lot of people went and seen this because of the fact it was Walkers last movie and the tribute in it.

Good on it for breaking records but it's far from a good indication that this movie is actually a good movie. It is what it is. Bad acting with lots of action and over the top stunts

You're more than entitled to your opinion, but just remember... numbers don't lie!

Watched this last night as was asked by mate if I wanted to go (not a massive fan of the series, saw the first two and Tokyo Drift and then the last one, no idea how many I haven't seen) - as others have mentioned it's just a bit of big dumb fun.

I found myself laughing at stuff that probably wasn't meant to be funny (e.g. everytime it cuts to a shot of the team walking in a line, or getting out of a car in a line, or random hot-ass bikini babes just being there in their bikinis because TEHB00BIES!, all of Vin Diesel's "cool" oneliners), but it was enjoyable for a Sunday night switch the brain off coupla hours.

That Rousey-Rodriguez fight was pretty sexy though, I gotta say.
Also I enjoyed the use of Deftones in that showdown-preparation / sports-training montage towards the end, after a whole lotta doof doof music pretty much all the way up to that point. Driving guitars equals good times.

The best part was the bus bust. The F&F franchise has been reknown for saving the best parts of the movie until the last scene... this one though came pretty early on. Tyrese had the whole cinema in stitches during his car parachute scene.

Furious 7 repeated for the third week in a row easily taking the top spot at the box office with $29 million. So far the film has grossed $294.4 million domestically and it is the current most successful movie of the year. Worldwide the film has surpassed the $1 billion mark in 17 days, something that neither ‘Avatar’ nor ‘The Avengers’ accomplished.

Saw it today, awesome movie. People that whinge about it being far fetched are just annoying. It's what the movie is meant to be.

Furious 7 was released in most major markets over the space of three days, meaning it was out in USA for 14 of those days

The avengers was released in Australia on 25th April, and didn't get released in USA until 5th May, with most other major markets in between, and only took 19 days to reach 1 billion, meaning it was only out in America for 8 days.

If it's got a Deftones song in it then I guess I'll have to see it.

I only watched Bio-Dome because it has a Voodoo Glow Skulls song in it (for all of 4 seconds).
