The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

By looking at the aerial shot from that video (1:10 onwards), I'd say that the front seats aren't covered by the roof. Even more would be exposed when wind is considered. Might be different in real life though. That video production looks cheap af.

And they forgot to add the bar and food lines in. They will still be bad.

Without a retracting roof I’m not sure much can be done about the windy rain.

It’s hard to go all the way out as you need to allow for sunlight for the grass.

I’d say at minimum 80% of the seats are undercover for most conditions.

I wonder what percentage would be covered at the current stadium? Most of the top tiers would be covered, even though they aren't really used for club games. As are many of the lower tier, depending on the wind etc.

Is this stadium 45k again?

45k x 80% = 36,000 covered seats.

So the remaining exposed seats = about 9,000.

That equates to nearly all the spectators you'd expect at a club game. In the closest seats. It's starting to look like the exact same problems as the old joint.

Not really a good upgrade for the cost.

No the bottom tiers at the current stadium are only 20% covered I’d say. They’re very exposed.

The whole stadium I’d say is about 50% covered.

The new stadium is said to be 40-45k.

The roof view from above is deceptive.
Look close at the ground level pictures and you will see clear polycarbonate roof extensions.
This will give it 100% seating coverage (dripline only).
Obviously, people will still get wet if the wind blows

Hmm, stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, right? Oriented north-south, right? Field level supporters area probably on western side close to players, right?

So... which one of these images is taken at about 9am in the morning and who is flipping the planet upside down between shots?

Leigh.

Am I seeing a things or would the spectators around halfway at the back of the top decks not be able to see either replay screen due to the drop in the roofline around the corners?
