A combined 37-years of NRL wisdom will be imparted on the Sharks squad in 2021. Paul Gallen, who played for NSW, Australia and a club record 348 NRL games for the Sharks, along with Luke Lewis, a member of the premiership winning Cronulla team of 2016 and also a former Blue, Kangaroo and a veteran of 324 NRL matches, are set to assist John Morris prepare his side throughout the 2021 season. The pair will be specialist skills coaches, concentrating on their areas of expertise, while also bringing their experience to the table in helping to mentor the young Sharks squad... “Hopefully with no ‘NRL bubble’ to contend with this season, Gal will return as specialist forwards and ruck defense coach while Luke will work specifically with the edges and our young backrowers in Nikora, Wilton and Talakai,” Morris added.
Fantastic news - Gal just has to be a part of the club, for all he has his knickers, he cares deeply about the club and will call out crappy standards. And Lewis is one of my favourites ever - ultra professional, and just a super honest, hardworking and decent fella. Having good people around like Lewis can only be a good thing.
Neither pose a direct threat to the head coach and both have f**kall on their coaching resumes. BOOO!
Gal and his knickers...lol. Reminds me of when he did that charity run outside Northies in a f**ked up G-Banger
I’ve been troubled by the lack of Lewis around the joint so this is great. Wasnt he originally promised this but we couldn’t afford to honour it?
Both thoroughly professional players. If they can impart that to the youngsters Its got to be a huge improvement. Listen to Luke Lewis on ABC, he exudes commitment, routine, focus, teamwork, etc and is a great communicator. Comes across as all-round likeable great bloke as well.
Gallen, Lewis & Mooney. Three names that should give comfort to any sharks fan going forward - whether you have happy or sad thoughts about the current coach, former coach, assistant coach or current mascot, climate change, Gerard Sutton etc Massive positive
Why the fugg would a specialist coaches pose a direct threat to the head coach, that's like complaining about Ennis being at the Raiders, Joey being at the Eels, Slater at the Storm. It's f**king stupid. Why do you want someone to put pressure on the HC, you want people to come in and compliment the HC, to create a collaborative coaching environment. Not one where the AC is trying to stab the HC in the back every two seconds. And news flash, there are very f**king little ACs I want to be HC at the club. So who is coming in as AC to put pressure that you'd want to be HC. And don't say Flanno or Ciraldo or Fitzgibbon becuase they won't come for an AC gig. Great to have these guys on board, experienced elite players who have done it all and will offer alot to the players. And help spread the load for Morris.
I'm with you mate. Rather than say what you said I had an attempt at sarcasm - obviously it didn't land too well.
Mana from heaven. Another positive decision from Morris .What do we need Hannay for? Imagine now if you will. Morris resigns and Hannay takes over and has to work with Gal and Lewis............
