Seemingly to get the clubs on his side he continues to put forward 2015 as the likely expansion date. He makes no logical reasoning why it should be delayed other than telling us that existing clubs are skint. Well delaying expansion isn't going to change that! Presuming the NRL gets its $billion TV deal it will cost less than 7% of it to expand the comp by two games. When you add in the value of an extra game a round and new audiences it is a no brainer, expand as soon as is feasable for the new clubs are able to get get set up!
They should bea nnouncing the two chosen teams now and planning for a 2014 kick off.

They should bea nnouncing the two chosen teams now and planning for a 2014 kick off.
NRL boss David Gallop remains adamant it will be four years before the competition is expanded to more than 16 teams.
Gallop said there were no plans to invite the likes of Central Coast, Perth or a second Brisbane team into the National Rugby League until 2015.
"I think 2015 is the earliest time that we would do it," Gallop said.
He expects two new clubs to be added.
"I anticipate it would involve two teams so that we would be able to have a ninth broadcast slot.
"It's obviously something we would only do if you could demonstrate that the whole game would benefit from it financially."
