That prick Gallop has defended his team of incompetent officials after this latest round of the Rugby League which was marred by incompetent refereeing!
Every year it just keeps getting worse, and the fans are getting so disillusioned!
It's a pretty close competition as the top 8 is shaping up and the lousy state of officiating is having an ever increasing effect on the outcomes of these matches!

Will this problem ever be addressed or do the teams and fans have to put up with this substandard refereeing nonsense!

Deadset you could train a spider-monkey to do a better job at running a football match than tools like Hayne and Archer!!!

I mean, where do these morons come from?

The players have no respect for these jerks because they know they are not gonna' get a fair go!

If they have a real shocker then they get demoted to a lower division, but they just keep on coming back to f**k up more 1st grade games!

I'd have an ounce of respect for Gallop if he said that they just didnt't have the talent but to dismiss it as a part of rugby league is a major insult!
He should be going all out to ensure that they get some quality referees and train them up properly. Getting rid of that dildo Finch would be a good start!

So Gallop give yourself an uppercut ... nah a friggin' roundhouse kick to the head for destroying any semblance of justice in the NRL!!! You've promoted blatant double-standards and done your best to muzzle the coaches by slapping ludicrous fines on them if they dare to speak the truth!!! Hell you even fine them when they don't say anything (Sheens after the Tigers-Radiers game).

No doubt Brian Smith is likely to get hit next after his comments after the Eels- Storm clash, but I reckon good on him for having the balls to expose this sham!

Wake up Gallop!!

!

After hearing him talk on NRL on Fox a number of times it is obvious that he has no idea what he is doing. He talks complete BS, but then again so does everyone in the NRL so why should he be any different.

Referees coach Robert Finch admitted match officials erred in not picking up a knock-on by Bulldogs winger Matt Utai in Friday's 24-20 win over Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium. "It was an error" he said.

OMG he is a F&%ing genius!sign him up as boss for life!

Guys, bitching about the ref is part of the game. This has been the case since, well, FOREVER. It's no worse than it's ever been.

And why call for Gallop's head? Get Finch out of there and give the job to someone with balls.

Gallop has said this morning that the NRL are goign to look at giving the video ref more powers to look at people taking a dive.

Although this approach is proactive it is also a step in the wrong direction. I dont think we should be giving the video ref more powers, we should be giving him less powers.

I think part of the problem of todays referees is the fact that they have a safety net on their officiating, they know that if they make a mistake, chances are it will be picked up by the video ref, although this weekend most didnt. Which brings me to my next point. If the NRL are serious about having a video ref, it is an absolute crock of shit that for some things the video ref can check up on and other things he cant. It has to be either no power or total power. You cant have someone getting high tackled, missed by the ref but pinged by the video ref then have someone knock on which is missed by the ref and with the video ref not being able to tell the ref it was a knock on. And also, if a ref makes an incorrect decision the video ref should be able to say so. It is either that, or just have the video ref for tries only.

I'll start giving it to the refs the day that all players are able to play mistake free football.

He's the most successful 'total failure' we've had in the NRL

Why not have 3 video refs to keep a constant eye on whats happening, and then get on the blower to the idiot in the middle, and say Utai knocked it on? After the weekends poor effort anything is an improvement.

Gallop is 100%right- coaches and fans winging on ref errors should fist look at their own teams

eg. tigers HAD EVERY CHANCE TO WIN THAT BULLDOGS MATCH IF GOOD ENOUGH!!!
Utai did knock on but 3 tackles later the tigers missed tackles and misread the play to allow them to score that try- they could of held them out if GOOD ENOUGH!
tHEY WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO HOLD THEM OUT!

Also refs are copping a pasting when losing teams like the tigers,Parra etc have coaches that cannot see their own team are defficient-the REAL REASON THEY ALWAYS LOSE!!

COME ON WINGERS, REFS ALWAYS MAKE ERRORS BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PLAYERS WHO MISS TACKLES, DROP THE BALL, MISREAD DEFENCE, ETC ETC ETC

True, but the tigers dropped off in intensity, waiting for the whistle, and who wouldnt when there is a blatant knock on? Utai made 50-60 metres from the refs mistake. Not the same as the tigers not being good enough to hold them out. Thats ok, but a referees decision should never have the impact it did on the weekend. Thats the difference if there are no stuff ups then its ok missed tackles etc will decide the game, and ONLY the errors by players, not refs errors.

Yeah right!

If football was mistake free then there wouldn't be much use for refs!!!

Exactly right johnsy.

Same with a dropped ball.....every time a ball goes to ground, 98% of the players stop for a split second....its human nature, your intesity and concentration drops. Youre taught from a young young age to play the whistle......but we still see rep level players automatically stop when a blatant error occurs, even when the ref sees it differently.
Its easy to say WestsTigers players couldnt stop the Dogs in that set of 6....its right they couldnt....but the first tackle they were all expecting the whistle to go....the next few tackles their not thinking...."I must tackle that blue shirt"...their FOCUS is, the "The ref made a mistake".

The momentum was with the dogs from the initial error....its easy to say the dogs played the whistle Ok.....but the momentum was with them.

Gallop has done an AWSOME job as CEO of the NRL. He has stuck through thick and thin unlike the other gutless wonders.

Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.

Bill Harrigan should be in charge of the referees. An ex referee and a referee that was good. He should relinquish his job at the Roosters and the NRL should make him a priority. I don't blame Archer for Friday night I blame the touchie and the video ref. Someone should have given him a call he was what 50 metres away from a kick off. In the game at Canberra yesterday the touchie got it right when Vilasanti stepped on the deadball line. Surely a simple thing like a knock on from a kick off with a touchie standing in the in goal can be picked up by hi, he was 3 metres away tops. #-o

Asking for the heads of Gallop and Finch isn't a solution. Dropping top level referee's isn't much of a solution either because in his place will be a premier league ref who isn't ready for NRL unless you give him a debut match that doesn't matter (i.e. Warriors V Manly "no offence to those fans, better luck for next season though").
What you have to look at here is that; Yes, There were errors made. Referee's are held accountable for their games, they get reviewed and learn from their mistakes so that they can do better next week (hopefully). If fans really want to make a difference about the level of refereeing, the only solution i can offer is to join a referee's association, get your ticket and show us how it's done.

I'm not asking for heads to roll, but something has to be done if the guys running around in 1st grade are the best we have. They need help and fast.

I disagree. I think the level and standard of referreeing this year has been far and away at the highest level I have ever seen. Bill Harrigan used to make worse mistakes than these guys do at least twice a match.
