How good is this line.
Very early in his career of course, but he has the potential to be the greatest legend the club has produced.
No pressure hahaha
As long as the club doesn’t f**k it up.

I think all his young teammates that played last season, would not have known what a wooden spoon felt like.
May they never know it again.

That line was from Luai. I assume you are talking about Galvin but I'll say the same thing. I think it's 99% the player. I mean I can't stand the Turd but he was great with us and he has had a great career.

Wests Tigers are keen to lock up the services of talented playmaker Lachlan Galvin with rival NRL clubs likely to start circling.

Despite the 19-year-old being contracted until the end of the 2026 season, the Tigers want to tie him down to a long-term contract at Concord.

Galvin's current contract can see the youngster start talking with clubs about a move from November 1 next year.
---------------
Once again, in his presser, he didn't seem to be really keen to sign a longer contract.
Though, he did say he was keen to work with Luai.

Lachlan Galvin is 19, the NRL’s most hyped young talent in years, and with a healthy helping hand from McDonald’s, is going to get bigger.

The Tigers five-eighth has grown another two centimetres to stand at 193cm (the tallest regular No.6 in the game) and shaved three seconds off the 1.2km time trial in which he already held the club record.

But having played at around 85kg in his impressive rookie season, the Tigers want Galvin adding size to his lean frame, a remit he’s struggled with so far this pre-season.

The Tiger’s licence to eat won’t quite trigger a Donald Trump-esque pivot to a dozen Diet Cokes, Doritos and McDonald’s for Galvin.

But along with coach Benji Marshall “hovering around me, making sure I do all my reps” in the gym, a steer toward his post-game indulgence in McDonald’s dinner boxes on a more regular basis is encouraged.

“I don’t eat enough. Every morning I’m in here, they tell me, ‘Eat breakfast, eat lunch’, they watch me eat [because] I’ve got to put the kilos on. I struggle with that but I’m trying my best,” the Tigers tyro said.

“The dietician Clare (Flower), she says, ‘Eat what you want, Lachlan’, so it’s pretty good.

“I get a dinner box from Macca’s on the way home [after games]. Clare spoke about calorie targets but I don’t even know what that means. I’ll just try to eat as much as I can. If I come in the morning and I weigh more than I did yesterday, I’m happy.”

Galvin’s debut season would have yielded rookie of the year honours if not for a two-game suspension, and had judges including Andrew Johns, Brad Fittler and Phil Gould lauding him as a generational talent.

The Tigers are accordingly wary of NRL rivals looking to prise Galvin out of Concord, especially given the well-documented release requests and emergency meetings with the Galvin family in June.

Extension talks have been flagged for the new year given Galvin’s current contract expires at the end of 2026, potentially putting him on the market in a year’s time as new expansion clubs become likely to circle.

The youngster dead-batted questions around his future, but the looming arrival of ex-Panthers star Jarome Luai is an undoubted attraction in staying.

Luai’s $6 million, five-year commitment to the joint venture not only brings a bona fide premiership winner to the Tigers alongside recruits Terrell May, Sunia Turuva and Royce Hunt, but also takes heat off Galvin in his development as a playmaker.

“Dad and I were sitting there thinking ‘I’m going to play alongside him next year’ – it’s a bit crazy,” Galvin said of watching Luai’s fourth-straight premiership win at Penrith.

“He’s going to help us so much and change the culture around here.

“We know how good a player he is; he’ll take so much pressure off me. He’ll run the team and I’ll just play off the back of that.”

I’ll be surprised if he commits long term to us.Can see him following Beetson & the turds footsteps to Bondi junction.

It'll be interesting. Let's see what happens and how his career develops. I think we have two of the best young halves in the comp in Latu and Galvin. It'll be interesting who comes good (if any) and if they do where they come good.

Galvin has had one good season and we came last.

I think Lachlan has his life set as a westy. He was a Parra fan growing up.
He still is daddy's boy and that's why our Richo went to their house for dinner and he explained things to the family.
It was shortly afterwards that Lachlan had given his allegiance to the WT.
I think if we show and act like a club that's moving forward then I'm confident he'll stay with us.
However, if he were to leave, I'd put my money on it being Parramatta or Penrith.
If Moses gets injured next year, they would do their best to agitate a release of Lauchy.
I could be off the mark, but it's just the vibe I'm getting.
The upside is, our spine is coming together nicely, and if the forwards can condense the middle and tie up the edges (defensive support fwds) our halves will be able to operate more freely.
If the team clicks, Lauchy will want to be part if it.

I'm sure Galvin's first priority is to play awesome footy next year, to prove to other clubs that he's able to maintain the great form that saw him singled out as the NRL's rookie of the year.

The destabilising money hungry unscrupulous agitator Isaac Moses is the primary problem re tying down Galvin long term. However if we turn the corner & become super competitive along with what I expect re Luia’s mentoring & influence over Galvin I’ve no doubt the kid would b swayed into remaining at concord indefinitely.

I think if he can see the improvements that we all should expect, he’ll see that we will become the future.
No one stays up forever, The Storm, and the Panthers won’t stay on too much longer, imo, they are feeling the pinch in players and maybe coaching staff.
It’s hard to see it, but I firmly believe that we are building to be the next powerhouse in the NRL.
We have everything in place, except the results (agree, it’s the most important part), but that is coming.
The players we have signed, didn’t come here just for the money, they could have got that from any club.

The point I was trying to make was, where is our weakness besides getting results.
We are financial, have maybe the best training facilities, LO is the best oval to play at with a home crowd baying for opposition blood, we have a huge junior footy area, we finally appear to have a strong management team, undecided about the coaches, but I don’t think they’ll last much longer, if results don’t happen.
But, results will come eventually, if not next season, then not long after.

Well I think Richo had to come in. I've never seen so many positive things happen at the club in such a short space of time.
Winning starts at the front office and since we got rid of the show ponies things are happening.
Regarding the fall from grace of Penrith and similar. These teams not only have a solid team right across the park, they also have a once in a lifetime champion in Clearey.
If Clearey's career suddenly came to an end the Panthers would be looking at someone else to build the club around. I don't think young Cole is in the same class as Clearey.
It happened at the Broncos when they had Darren Lockyer, Jonathan Thurston ect.
They lost a lot when those players left and the same scenario at the Storm.
