Game day...Have a Whinge

I thought I'd put this up because lately this has really got up my nose on game days, and I thought I'd post it, and then others could add any gripes they have about match days.

Mine is this.
It is becoming more and more the norm lately for people to turn up at the game and plonk themselves down on the hills in one of those bloody great camping chairs, now that's OK, but NOT halfway down the hill, so everyone behind them gets a great view of someones arse spread out on a camping chair. There are lines marked on the Goninan hill behind which those type chairs can be used, the security people used to police that quite well, but don't seem to worry much these days. With the new seating it makes the Hill even more congested, nobody has plonked one down in front of me yet, but I can tell you if they do they'll know all about it. ( think it should be policed a lot more than it is.

OK what's your whinge/Whinges?

I hated that when I was on the hill... I hate it also when people leave early... that really annoys me.

Also I wrote this to Big League and it needs to stop... pople DO NOT take their hats off any more when the Anthem is being sung and it annoys the hell out of me. It's dissapointing that people can't take there hats off for 1 song.

Alot of clubs don't sing the anthem. And I don't see why they have to. It's not a game where a country is involved.

Funny topic because I was just saying today to a bloke how I hate it when crowds constantly yell "offside" simply because they can. However they don't understand the offside rule concisely enough.

Defence is allowed to move forward once the ball is placed on the ground and the ball has been played at. NOT when the halfback picks up the ball. This difference is about 1-2 secs but is a defence difference of 1-2 metres.

So you get these knobs at the football who fail to understand the rules of the game or keep updated on changes yelling out all day about offside. Sure some are probably offside occasions but not every goddam play the ball. I wish they would just learn the rules.

I gave my old man a whack yesterday because he started yelling it just because everyone else was yelling it.

Rulebooks should be given out at the gate at the start of each match by the NRL.

Yep, I agree with Ben. I hate it how people think they know the rules, but in reality, have no idea whatsoever.

I also hate it when you buy a pie, and you bite into the middle to find it still frozen (one reason I no longer eat pies at the footy, but I might at Brookvale this week.... had the best pie there last year).

And I hate it how people get to their spot in front of you, and it takes them a couple of minutes to sit down... I don't care if it's Jersey Flegg or first grade, I'm there to watch the footy and these people just block the views.

My gripe with the footy is with the anally retentive people that sit in the eastern concourse who dont cheer or stand up when the knights run on.... in fact they constantly ask us whether we are made of glass..... were NOT made of glass, we paid 200 f**king dollars to cheer on our team so we have as much right to cheer for them as them...... we dont complain at their pathetic lack of enthusiasm or patriotism and its not like we do it when the game is on.... they get upset because they cant see the wonderful pre match entertainment which, if youve ever been to EAS is pretty f**king shithouse anyway its not like their missing much

Don't want to step on anyone's toes, but our anthem is God awful. I don't blame people for refusing to sing it.

Those people that are always going off at the ref if the decission doesn't favour the knights. Even though it's obvious the knights were in the wrong. God they sh!t me!

I think nearly every one of those posts applies to me ! #-o

I take my time getting settled. I don't take my hat off for the anthem (next you'll want me to hold it over my heart like a wanker yank). I had no quarms yelling "get em on side" even when I was on my fold-up chair behind the goal posts & had no idea what is going on.
& I will continue to moan when a decision goes against the knights.

But I will never, ever, ever leave early!

I did notice some people leave early, the home game before last as they had to attend to a sick kid (got the call on the mobile). :?

So I feel sorry for the real emergencies, but there can't be that many sick kids in newcastle can there?

i have to say ppl who get to the games really late and then stand on the walkways infront of the hill right in front of the ppl who got there early before the gates opened and got a spot they then stand there for the entire game and block the view for everyone else.
I must say that the day this happened to me the result was not good and this resulted in my frustration but this really makes me mad

i hate when ppl stand right infront of you.
the one good thing about penrith is that they have a no standing area. and if you stand you get a gob full!!!
and are asked to sit or move

My gripes are simple.

DONT CUT THE BEER OFF AT HALFTIME and

They should have people walking around selling pies, peanuts and beer o you don't have to leave your seat.

Simple really.

I get that as well. If it was the hill they would be standing up... so what's the difference? The Western people still all stand up. Their just up themselves.

As for the Anthem... I don't know why they play it at every game... but they do and it's just out of respect that you remove your hat.
I don't think Eddo that you would be expected to put your hat over your heart.
